What's it all about then?
This page has been set up to show that there is a growing tidal wave of support for the office party this year - why not ask your boss to see if you're having one - as many of us won't be having one due to tough year it's been. However we've still worked just as hard if not harder to prove we're worth it.
As employees the Christmas party is the one time we know our bosses truly appreciate us and show they care. Plus it's a time when we can all relax over a glass of wine and enjoy each other's company outside of the office environment and concentrate on socialising rather than working!
We need to tell our bosses that the office party strengthens relationships, invigorates tired ones and lets people forge new ones. We need to get across to them that it is the ultimate in team bonding and sets us up to work hard for the next year!
We believe that it is very important for staff morale to have a Christmas party and as such would ask if you'd like to leave a post on our wall on Facebook, look for 'SavetheChristmasdo'. You can also follow us on Twitter, search for: @saveofficeparty.
In return we'll vocalise the office party cause as much as possible in the effort to get your boss to change their mind and treat you to a hard earned Christmas bash - you can request this by either leaving a post on our Facebook wall or emailing: info@bigwednesdaypr.com.
We all work hard so let's join together and make some noise and show them how much this simple gesture means to us.
It doesn't have to cost the earth and up to £150 per person is tax free!
We'd also love to know if you are or aren't having a bash this year, please email us at: info@bigwednesdaypr.com!
STOP! 'SAVE THE OFFICE PARTY' VIDEO NOW LIVE!
The 'Save the Office Party' campaign continues to gather momentum as the video, filmed, edited and created by Forcefed Media, goes live on You Tube, click on the link below to view!Eugénie Tham, Director of Big Wednesday PR said 'Our campaign has been aimed at office workers through various social media platforms and this is the highlight of the campaign. The video is a piece of festive fun to be passed around the office and encourage bosses to give their staff a little thank you for working so hard during such a difficult year. There are some good deals to be taken advantage of out there; it doesn't have to be expensive.'
The video follows a teaser picture sent out last week. Anyone and everyone is allowed to send it on to anyone they wish and it can be found by searching on You Tube for 'Save the Office Party.'
A couple of weeks ago, Tham and 3 other industry members went to Radio 2 and talked to Chris Evans about the campaign. Evans showed his support and immediately tweeted a picture of the girls from his phone but due to the BBC's own cutbacks was unable to use the subject as a talking point on his show.
Gary Peters of Evolve Events said 'I think the campaign is great and I shall definitely be sending out the video to our database. It's true Christmas bookings have been slower this year for everyone and this is a great tactic to pick it up.'
Kimberley Eyre-Varnier from a top 10 West End advertising agency who has booked a Christmas party at the super cool Village Underground in Shoreditch with Evolve Events this year said 'It has been a tough year but as a company we feel it's important to reward staff to get them motivated for the year ahead, otherwise they can feel neglected.'
Big Wednesday PR undertook creating the campaign after hearing that many companies were cancelling their festive treats for staff and understanding how the events industry is being affected by it. The answer was to create the 'Save the Office Party' campaign aiming it at the worker rather than the CEO to gain support from the ground up. The campaign on Twitter has gained over 1,100 followers with regular tweets about offers on festive fun, statistics learned, jokes and other items to keep readers entertained.
The video was made in collaboration with Forcefed Media, who specialise in video for PR and events, and filmed in Inneventive's offices with kind permission of Lucy Stoddart. Dickon Gough - Rudolph - is one of Young Guns' very talented rising stars with an incredible baritone voice, Beautiful Minds supplied two of their lovely promotional staff Danielle - Miss Christmas - and Troy - Santa - and Richard Elmer from Elemental took one for the industry by playing the miserly boss! Other thanks go to actress Louisa Benjamin, Sarah Green and Shukkwan Tan for playing Miss Christmas, an Elf-ette and an angel.
Antony Alexandrou from Forcefed Media said 'We wanted to get involved with the campaign when we heard about it and came up with the idea of re-writing one of the best known Christmas songs to capture people's attention. Video is a great medium to get the point across.'
