iPod Shuffle Buttons Return

The iPod shuffle despite its size and somewhat limited functions has still been through an amzing 4 generations! It has always been a popular item but the last generation lacked something...buttons. Yes the 3rd generation iPod shuffle had a voice over function added but the buttons removed. Thankfully Apple saw the light and for the 4th generation have put the buttons back.

The one thing that the iPod shuffle has always had to compromise on is its lack of display, well now with a simple press of the VoiceOver button you shuffle will tell you all you need to know, whether its the song title, artist name or how long you have got left on you battery. Now the really clever thing about this is that it can also do this in 25 different languages! so if you are listening to a French love song it will be able to tell you exactly what it is called.

In five vibrant colours, 2GB of storage and a handy clip the shuffle is still a favourite with sports people and commuters alike and priced at just $49 there is not alot to complain about this upgrade.

Where I like to use my Shuffle.

iPod Shuffle1.) Load it with my latest favourite play lists clip it onto my top and go out for a jog. I always make sure I have my running songs play list loaded for this as it gives me that extra push I need some (most!!) of the time.

2.) Clip it onto my bag and have my wake me up and chill me out play lists loaded for my commute to and from work.

3.) If I find it hard to sleep I have it clipped to my pillow and play some soothing ballads into my ears to help me drift off to the land of nod.

4.) Housework is not my favourite past time but I make the most out of it by having my favourite 'sing a long' songs belting out.

5.) And for those of you who are a bit more creative, the coloured Shuffles can also double up as hair accessories :)

The End of the Shuffle?

I predict that at the 2011 Media Event Steve Jobs will announce that the shuffle will no longer be part of the iPod range. With the smaller and more versatile Nano now on the market I see no room for the Shuffle anymore. What does everyone else think?
