Question: 2000 Kia Sportage only starts in Neutral... Why?
We have a 2000 Kia Sportage 4x4 automatic... It will only starting in Neutral.
The neutral safety switch has already been replaced and it continues to only start in neutral.

If we try to start it in park it just keeps turning over and over... but put in in neutral... it starts immediately.

Any helpful ideas to help us narrow this problem down?

Hii, I am staying in Dubai UAE. I am willing to purchase a car which will be economical & comfortable. Daily I have to travel 320Km @ 160 Km/hr speed. I am getting confused between KIA Sportage(2.0 Lit,4x2,SUV) or Toyota Corolla(1.8 lit,Sedan). Looking for comfort, Fuel efficiency and low maintainance. Which car would be advisable, new car or Pr-owned car? Kindly suggest.

Answer:I'd prefer the Sportage. Toyotas are great, but the Sportage offers so much more than just a cheap little compact 4.5 seater. It has something called cargo space and Kias are just as reliable as any import, not to mention better value for the money. Btw, Kia=Hyundai, same company, same cars for the most part. 10/100K warranty, cheap to buy, etc......although at those speeds, neither will get ya more than 27mpg, tho the Corolla will do slightly better.

Question: 2001 Kia Sportage losing break fluid, and automatic window problems. HELP!?
Hello, I have a 2001 Kia Sportage automatic.
The past year I have had trouble with the brakes. My car seems to be losing break fluid very fast.
I have already had my master cylinder replaces last summer and that seemed to help for a few months. Also, around 5 months ago I had it taken to a shop and checked for brake problems. I guess they took it all apart and said they couldnt find anything wrong. (If you were wondering I havent driven it all winter.)

Do you know what could be happening?
Any advice would be helpful.. please list anything you can think of.

Also my power windows no longer work. Im pretty sure I had already had the fuse checked.. or whatever it is...

Are any of these common is Kia Sportages?

Answer:1 its 10 yrs old..all cars need repairs not just kia
2 have a shop chek brakes...4 wheel cylinders and the master again..fluid is going somewhere. [dripping inside by pedal???]
3 windows..pretty sure??lol check fuse again...or bad master on drivers door

Answer:Nope. KIAs are cheap but they ain't that cheap. You might be able to find a 2001 but not a 2006 in your price range.

Question: Car window wont go up on 2001 Kia Sportage what broke?
I was in process of letting window up (auto.) when I heard a snap,then the window wouldnt go up

Answer:if it is somehting simple it could be afuse or a wire

if it is something bigger it could be the elevator motor

or none of the above , it could be that the window moved out of the track , that happens when they slamm the door very often , the window can come out of the track and will not go up
