Wow, well done. Great to see someone take the time and make a great sports lens - there aren't a whole lot of good ones.

Good stuff. Have yet to pull the trigger on fantasy football. I've done baseball and basketeball, but I get the feeling fantasy football is the mother of all fantasy sports games. This looks like a good place to start educating myself.
You guys have a blog? If not, you definitely need one. You have the beginning of an online business and with the proper strategy, you could really turn this passion of yours into a legitimate business.

The Cowboys would take Odrick, Pouncey or Weatherspoon over Mays in the first round. Mays doesn't fit they're style of play. He would end up being Roy Wiliams (the safety) version 2 and version 1 was a complete bust. They need someone who can cover and Mays can't.

You need to update with the free agency signings. After the Chiefs signed Lilja, there is no way they reach on Buluga. Just a thought

If the Chiefs were willing to reach on Bulaga before the Lilja signing... they will too after the signing. Lilja does not address their need at tackle. Obviously they would love to see Russell Okung there at #5... but Kansas City tends to put value on positions in the draft. Last year they took Tyson Jackson third overall. He was valued around the 10th to 14th best player in the draft. They have reached for positional needs before... I don't see why that would change now.

Nice draft report. Re: the 49ers picks: Rather than pay Haden 13th pick money, I would go for a higher probabiliy bet in Dan Williams, NT, then I agree with theTrent Williams OG/OT move. With the second pick I would go with Sy Quan Thomas, CB...and I would advocate the 49ers pick up some speed skill players like Jordan Shipley in Rd 3.

Why would the browns take a hybrid de/olb with the 7th pick? They were #8 in sacks.yet only had 10 ints!!! we have no one in the secondary. We didn't get any coverage sacks

"Pierre-Paul has a freakishly high upside and he will be going to the 3-4 defense here in Cleveland where I believe he can make a smooth transition standing up as a rush linebacker. He has fluid hips and good range in coverage. He's versatile and shows nice athleticism sideline to sideline. Former first-rounder Kamerion Wimbley notched 69 tackles and 6.5 sacks last year, but I think the Browns are looking for the next DeMarcus Ware at this pick.

I think Joe Haden and Dez Bryant are definitely possibilities here, but Haden is a little cliche at the moment and I wanted to go with a logical pick that also broke some barriers. JPP's athleticism and upside will likely intrigue some team, and this pick makes a lot of sense for Cleveland. "

why would the lions get McCoy instead of Berry?
  • Jim Feb 3, 2010 @ 4:22 pm | delete
they need a DT more. Their run defense sucks

You really must not think highly of Seattle. A complimentary RB at 6 and a 3-4 round talent QB at 14. Berry or Bradford and Earl Thomas or Trent Williams/Charles Brown or even Spiller makes a lot more sense.

Anthony Davis and Jerry Hughes are both excellent choices...the Niners won't miss an OT this year. They were set to take Oher last draft when Crabtree fell into their laps. Davis will fill the bill very nicely and upgrade RT immediately. Hughes is a stud and could form quite a tandem with emerging Ahmad Brooks at OLB.

I agree that they would be excellent picks for the Niners. The second round pick should be either a guard or corner. Dream pick would be Golden Tate falling into the Niners spot. He would be a dynamic addition to the offense and allow Morgan to become the third receiver. He would also add to the punt returns. If a good safety falls that would help also.
