- Good stuff. Have yet to pull the trigger on fantasy football. I've done baseball and basketeball, but I get the feeling fantasy football is the mother of all fantasy sports games. This looks like a good place to start educating myself.
You guys have a blog? If not, you definitely need one. You have the beginning of an online business and with the proper strategy, you could really turn this passion of yours into a legitimate business.

- The Cowboys would take Odrick, Pouncey or Weatherspoon over Mays in the first round. Mays doesn't fit they're style of play. He would end up being Roy Wiliams (the safety) version 2 and version 1 was a complete bust. They need someone who can cover and Mays can't.

- You need to update with the free agency signings. After the Chiefs signed Lilja, there is no way they reach on Buluga. Just a thought

- If the Chiefs were willing to reach on Bulaga before the Lilja signing... they will too after the signing. Lilja does not address their need at tackle. Obviously they would love to see Russell Okung there at #5... but Kansas City tends to put value on positions in the draft. Last year they took Tyson Jackson third overall. He was valued around the 10th to 14th best player in the draft. They have reached for positional needs before... I don't see why that would change now.

- Nice draft report. Re: the 49ers picks: Rather than pay Haden 13th pick money, I would go for a higher probabiliy bet in Dan Williams, NT, then I agree with theTrent Williams OG/OT move. With the second pick I would go with Sy Quan Thomas, CB...and I would advocate the 49ers pick up some speed skill players like Jordan Shipley in Rd 3.

- "Pierre-Paul has a freakishly high upside and he will be going to the 3-4 defense here in Cleveland where I believe he can make a smooth transition standing up as a rush linebacker. He has fluid hips and good range in coverage. He's versatile and shows nice athleticism sideline to sideline. Former first-rounder Kamerion Wimbley notched 69 tackles and 6.5 sacks last year, but I think the Browns are looking for the next DeMarcus Ware at this pick.
I think Joe Haden and Dez Bryant are definitely possibilities here, but Haden is a little cliche at the moment and I wanted to go with a logical pick that also broke some barriers. JPP's athleticism and upside will likely intrigue some team, and this pick makes a lot of sense for Cleveland. "

- Anthony Davis and Jerry Hughes are both excellent choices...the Niners won't miss an OT this year. They were set to take Oher last draft when Crabtree fell into their laps. Davis will fill the bill very nicely and upgrade RT immediately. Hughes is a stud and could form quite a tandem with emerging Ahmad Brooks at OLB.

- I agree that they would be excellent picks for the Niners. The second round pick should be either a guard or corner. Dream pick would be Golden Tate falling into the Niners spot. He would be a dynamic addition to the offense and allow Morgan to become the third receiver. He would also add to the punt returns. If a good safety falls that would help also.

Updated 4/22
1. St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
6-4 | 223 lbs. | Junior
Oklahoma City, OK
A Player Bio on Sam Bradford: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock & More
At one point in the mock draft process I was told I was either a complete idiot for posting it or Billy Devaney was out of his mind when he said, "its scary to use a high pick on a DT," now that it has become draft day I would like to say that clearly the Rams like the Quarterbacks in this draft. I would rather see them take Clausen (I have him higher ranked than Bradford) but in the end they will end up choosing Sam Bradford. There is also rumors circulating that the Rams want to trade back and take Clausen. If this is the case... I see no reason to take Bradford (if Clausen is your guy). We could see a draft day deal go down similar to the 2004 draft where Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers changed teams on draft day.
Here is an Excerpt from Walterfootball.com's mock draft. It was an email they received from a Rams fan. Here are a few quotes from the email.
"We have passed on three franchise quarterbacks in the last four drafts. In 2006, we passed on Jay Cutler, in 2008, we passed on Matt Ryan, and in 2009, we passed on Mark Sanchez. If you look back at those three drafts, each pick we took a so-called safe pick." ....
"I wish this team would make their mind up soon and make it clear that they are interested in Jimmy Clausen. I absolutely love his ability, leadership and toughness; not to mention his smarts and physical ability - something this team hasn't had since the Kurt Warner days." - Rams fan Steven P.
Steven P. is right... the Rams have waited to long for a Quarterback. They need to take one or trade for one using their 1st round draft pick in 2010. It now seems they will take a QB, just not the right one.
2. Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
6-4 | 300 lbs. | Senior
Portland, OR
A Player Bio on Ndamukong Suh: Highlights, Awards, Draft Stock & More
The Lions could go two different ways with this selection. The obvious choice would be the best player on the board... Ndamukong Suh. The Lions would have a formidable D-Line for years to come; however, with the high cost of a 2nd overall selection... they would also have invested too much capital into their defensive line. They would have to pay Ndamukong Suh way more money than he is worth. Rather than pay that kind of money for a defensive tackle... they should select an offensive tackle such as Russell Okung. However, this mock draft is not about what they should do... it is what they will do and that is select Ndamukong Suh. Do not get me wrong, Suh is an outstanding player and will be a force in Detriot. But they need to protect Stafford in order to succeed.
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
6-4 | 297 lbs. | Junior
Oklahoma City, OK
A Player Bio on Gerald McCoy: Highlights, Stats, Links, Draft Stock & More
Tampa Bay has always been the team waiting to see who is available. I've always had either Suh or McCoy here. They will select the highest rated DT on their board (assuming it is one of McCoy and Suh). So with no further a due: with the 3rd selection in the 2010 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Gerald McCoy, defensive tackle out of Oklahoma.
Will he turn into the next Warren Sapp? The Buccaneers sure hope so, and I believe he will be better against the pass than Warren was.
4. Washington Redskins - Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
6-5 | 300 lbs. | Senior
Fort Bend, TX
A Player Bio on Russell Okung: Your #2 pick in our 2010 NFL Mock Draft
Jimmy Clausen or Sam Bradford were locks here at number 4 for months. Now they have made a deal for McNabb and the team needs to be about winning now... not grooming Shannahan's next quarterback (at least not in the 1st round). Now the Question is whether they take Okung or Williams. Trent Williams is the better athlete but I feel Okung is less risky due to his overall package and high level of production. Williams struggled on the left side his senior season at Oklahoma and his work ethic is not NFL Quality. Mark my words... Trent Williams will not be a Pro Bowl Tackle in his NFL Career. Russell Okung is the pick here at 4.
5. Kansas City Chiefs - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
5-11 | 203 lbs. | Junior
Fairburn, GA
A Player Bio on Eric Berry: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
I have been against putting Berry here for the past few mock drafts. Why? Because offensive tackle is clearly the bigger need. Nonetheless, Berry is an elite talent and the Chiefs aren't the most conventional of selectors (see Tyson Jackson @ #3). Safety is a need for the Chiefs and Berry is the best in the draft. Chiefs fans should be ecstatic with this pick, their secondary just got much better. If only they could fill the rest of the holes on their defense...
Daniel's Picks 6-10
2010 Mock
6. Seattle Seahawks - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
6-5 | 318 lbs. | Senior
Longview, TX
The Seahawks are in good position to get many positions of need. Offensive tackle is clearly their biggest need. They could either wait and take Bulaga or an Anthony Davis at pick #14 and select a Derrick Morgan/C.J. Spiller here at six, or they could select Trent Williams. The #2 tackle in the draft class. Trent Williams really shut up a lot of his critics at the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine. There were doubts he could play on the Left Side of the line... however with his athletic ability he erased some of those concerns. However, his work ethic is a slight concern.
7. Cleveland Browns - Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
6-3 | 327 lbs. | Senior
Memphis, TN
I wanted to put Dez Bryant here at 7, or Derrick Morgan... however, as the draft draws near the fit with Dan Williams is hard to pass up. Clearly they would love to see Eric Berry here at #7 but right now he seems like a lock for the Chiefs at #5. Jimmy Clausen is also a real possibility here at 7, Mike Holmgren does not hate Clausen, but he does love Colt McCoy. He is targeting McCoy and will either trade back to gain some picks here or he will have to trade up to get him. I have McCoy falling to them in the 2nd round but Holmgren should probably ensure he gets his guy... especially if he feels he is like: Joe Montana and Steve Young.
Dan Williams is the best nose tackle in this 2010 class and the Browns could use someone like him to clog the middle of their 3-4. Behind Eric Berry at safety, Dan Williams filling their void at NT should be 2nd on their list.
8. Oakland Raiders - Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
6-6 | 330 lbs. | Senior
Anaheim, CA
A Player Bio on Mike Iupati: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
It is Al Davis... I do not really want to waste my time an explain to you all the odd picks he made last year and in his drafting history. The hot rumor right now is that he wants Iupati. With Bruce Campebll on the board? He is so fast and so strong Al... Mike Iupati is a great prospect at the guard position, but in a similar situation to Darrius Heyward-Bey... why draft someone in the top ten that you can likely select in the 20s? The wild world of Al Davis. As one ESPN blogger put it... "Al Davis died four years ago."
9. Buffalo Bills - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
6-3 | 223 lbs. | Junior
Westlake Village, CA
Player Bio: Jimmy Clausen: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock & More
The Bills need a quarterback, they need a nose tackle, and they need an offensive tackle. Three glaring needs and the best value on the board is Jimmy Clausen. I feel he should have been the 1st quarterback selected in this draft and the Bills should feel lucky to land him at #9. Bryan Bulaga is a definite possibility here at #9 but you need a quarterback to compete in this league... and their quarterbacks are all mediocre.
10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida
6-6 | 265 lbs. | Junior
Deerfield Beach, FL
A Player Bio on Jason Pierre-Paul: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Look for the Jaguars to trade out of this selection at #10 in an attempt to gather more selections later in the draft. However, if they hold on to this selection look for them to take one of these approaches to the pick:
- To address the defensive line position they should look at one of Derrick Morgan or Jason Pierre-Paul
- They could look to improve their secondary if Eric Berry falls to them but Earl Thomas is a more likely candidate here at #10
I was really leaning towards Earl Thomas for a while here at #10 but I remembered that one aging defensive end who is coming off major surgery is not enough to really fill a void on a D-Line. Then they went ahead and traded Quentin Groves to the Oakland Raiders for a 5th round selection it all but solidified Jason Pierre-Paul or Derrick Morgan here at #10. Word out of Jacksonville is they prefer Jason Pierre-Paul... so he is the pick here at 10.
Daniel's Picks 11-16
2010 Mock
11. Denver (f/ CHI) - Maurkice Pouncey, OG/C, Florida
6-5 | 318 lbs. | Junior
Lakeland, FL
Do you really love Dez Bryant that much Josh McDaniels? Then why would you so publicly support him? Oh, I see. So you really don't love him. Thanks Josh.
The Denver Broncos need a center. Badly. They have no NFL caliber center on their roster. Maurkice Pouncey is an outstanding center and is a bit of a reach here at 11 but Josh McDaniels is locked in on Pouncey. I have to admit I first saw this selection on Walter Cherepinsky's mock draft and then I researched a little and it made sense. However, a few days later it seems like all the experts are claiming to have breaking news on the Pouncey front. Well I have jumped on board and feel Pouncey is a perfect fit for Denver.
12. Miami Dolphins - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
6-4 | 275 lbs. | Junior
Coatesville, PA
Dan Williams is the ideal nose tackle in a 3-4 defense... but he is off the board. The Miami Dolphins lost Jason Taylor to the Jets but regardless were looking for pass rush help. Whether it be Kindle, Hughes, or Morgan they will select a pass rusher. Their is no better pass rusher in this draft than Derrick Morgan, which makes him a perfect fit for the Dolphins here at #12.
13. San Francisco 49ers - Joe Haden, CB, Florida
5-11 | 190 lbs. | Junior
Fort Washington, MD
The 49ers would be very fortunate to have the best value on the board be arguably their highest position of need (other than OT). Joe Haden would step in day one and make an impact for Greg Manusky's defensive unit. Already one of the best defenses in the league... the 49ers just got better and are clearly the favorites to win the NFC West at this moment in time. If the 49ers get lucky again with a highly rated prospect falling to them in the draft... 49er fans will be watching the draft going crazy yet again. Hopefully for them, Joe Haden doesn't hold out half of the season.
If the board is actually how it is here... I would strongly suggest the 49ers to pick Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa... however, when looking at the picks coming up I would try to target 2 picks here at 13. One selection is the player I feel will not make it to 17. If I feel there is a possibiity that both don't make it to 17 then I would draft the higher rated player on my board and hope the other falls. In this case, Joe Haden could very well be selected by the Tennessee Titans, whereas the Seahawks have already selected Trent Williams. I would see Bulaga as the one more likely to fall to me at 17, and thus pull the Trigger on Haden here at 13.
Spiller? it is a possibility... but he is more of a luxury pick than a great value/need pick. Now that they have Ted Ginn, Spiller has less value to them in the return game. Spiller becomes a possibility if Haden is off the board, or if none of the top tackles are available. In this case also look for Sergio Kindle to be on the 49ers radar at 17.
14. Seattle Seahawks (f/DEN) - C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
5-11 | 195 lbs. | Senior
Lake Butler, FL
A Player Bio on C.J. Spiller: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Trent Williams filled their need at offensive tackle, and with Derrick Morgan off the board Spiller is clearly the best value. Outside of Dez Bryant I don't see the Seahawks going any other direction. Spiller is a dynamic play maker and would be added to an offense that had no home run threat of any kind. T.J. Whosyourmomma is a possession receiver and their runningbacks are nothing special. Spiller would add a dynamic threat to the Seahawks.
15. New York Giants - Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama
6-4 | 258 lbs. | Junior
Decatur, AL
The Giants get their guy here at 15. They have targeted Rolando McClain for a while now and with the Broncos locked in on Maurkice Pouncey... the Giants get their wish. McClain fills a big need for the Giants and is a good value here at 15.
16. Tennessee Titans - Brandon Graham, DE, Michigan
6-2 | 263 lbs. | Senior
Detroit, MI
The Tennessee Titans should focus in on two positions... cornerback and defensive end. The cornerback class is deep this year while the defensive ends are top heavy. Brandon Graham knows how to get to the quarterback and will greatly improve the Titans defensive front seven.
Daniel's Picks 17-24
2010 Mock
17. San Francisco 49ers (f/CAR) - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
6-6 | 312 lbs. | Junior
Crystal Lake, IL
Bryan Bulaga is the clear pick here. They targeted him at 13 and now they get him at 17. Offensive Tackle is their number 1 priority and if they can snag Bulaga who is a clear top 10 talent... the 49ers will have won draft day once again (Crabtree falling in 2009).
18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
6-6 | 325 lbs. | Junior
Piscataway, NJ
A Player Bio on Anthony: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Corner is a need as well as offensive tackle. Actually the entire offensive line has needs for the Steelers. Not to mention the possibility of their QB being traded. It is a tough sight to see Ben leaving the Steelers but I believe it will happen soon. With this pick here they will address their offensive line because again, the cornerback class is deep with talent. Anthony Davis is clearly the best offensive lineman on the board and would likely not be here had Bulaga not fallen to 17 to the 49ers.
19. Atlanta Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri
6-2 | 245 lbs. | Senior
Jasper, TX
A Player Bio on Jason Pierre-Paul: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Sean Weatherspoon is a perfect fit for the Falcons. They have a glaring weakness at the outside linebacker position and with Sean Weatherspoon rising on all draft boards since his performance at the Senior bowl. Not to mention the combine. The Falcons reach a bit for Weatherspoon here at 19 but the fit is perfect in their defense so they pull the trigger.
20. Houston Texans - Earl Thomas, FS, Texas
5-10 | 197 lbs. | Sophomore
Orange, TX
A Player Bio on Earl Thomas: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
The Texans strike gold. If Thomas falls to #20, the Texans should not hesitate to select him. Ryan Matthews has recently been mocked here at 20 as well as Kyle Wilson. I feel like they should select a defensive back not a runningback. Runningbacks can often be found later in the draft. Thomas is a top ten talent at safety and also has the ability to play corner, nickel corner immediately. Earl Thomas presents a huge value here for the Texans.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Taylor Mays, S, USC
6-3 | 235 lbs. | Senior
Seattle, WA
Although safety is not the sexy pick and most Bengals fans probably are looking at this pick in disgust. Safety is a need for the Bengals and Taylor Mays is the best player available at the position. There should be no real issue with this selection. However, Bengals fans want a TE or a #3 WR. Dez Bryant or Jermaine Gresham. If a team selects Gresham in the 1st round... it will be a wasted selection. Dez Bryant would be a good pick up here at 21 but do they really want another troubled player? Not to mention spending a 1st round pick on a player who likely will serve as your 3rd wide out on your depth chart. Taylor Mays has the size to fit into the Bengals defensive scheme. They go that avenue and take Taylor Mays here at #21.
22. New England Patriots - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
6-2 | 220 lbs. | Junior
Lufkin, TX
A Player Bio on Dez Bryant: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
The Patriots could do anything with this pick... because they have 3 2nd round picks in the 2010 NFL Draft. They will get 4 quality players with these selections. In 2 or 3 years the Patriots should be back to their dominant form.
This pick is a luxury selection. With Dez Bryant falling into their laps they have no choice but to select him. Randy Moss could be playing his last year in New England so the Patriots should get some insurance at the wide out position. Not to mention the questionable health of Wes Welker.
23. Green Bay Packers - Charles Brown, OT, USC
6-6 | 285 lbs. | Senior
Chino Hills, CA
There was a run on offensive tackles in this mock draft. The Packers miss the opportunity to land a top tackle. Yet, they still want to address their biggest need and help out Aaron Rodgers. By selecting Charles Brown here they are reaching a bit... but they do fill a big hole on their line. If he pans out... Charles Brown and the Packers could make a deep run into the playoffs next season.
24. Philadelphia Eagles - Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State
5-10 | 186 lbs. | Senior
Fiscataway, NJ
A Player Bio on Kyle Wilson: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Corner is not a huge need for the Eagles, but Kyle Wilson is a great player and presents a good value here at 24 because of the amount of teams passing on corners because of the deep class. I still believe they will ultimately trade up to select Earl Thomas who is an elite safety prospect... but with them staying put Kyle Wilson fits in nicely in Philadelphia
Daniel's Picks 25-32
2010 Mock
25. Baltimore Ravens - Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State
6-5 | 306 lbs. | Senior
Lebanon, PA
26. Arizona Cardinals - Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas
6-4 | 255 lbs. | Senior
Dallas, TX
A Player Bio on Sergio Kindle: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Even with Warner's retirement... I don't believe the Cardinals will spend a 1st rounder on a QB. Derek Anderson and Matt Lienart will get their chance this year. At this point Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow could start to surface... but QB is not on their radar. A possible trade down? I think so.
If they stay here though, Sergio Kindle will be the selection. Kindle is a freak athlete who knows how to get to the Quarterback. Their defense needs to be addressed after seeing Dansby, Rolle, and Bertrand Berry all walk away. Safety was addressed... but their line-backing corp could use an injection of talent.
27. Dallas Cowboys - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
6-7 | 310 lbs. | Junior
Hamden, CT
A Player Bio on Bruce Campbell: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Bruce Campbell is the most athletic offensive tackle in the draft... but his production on the field did not match is potential. The Cowboys need an offensive tackle badly after letting Flozell Adams walk. Campbell is the best OT on the board here, so he is the selection.
28. San Diego Chargers - Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno State
5-11 | 220 lbs. | Junior
Bakersfield, California
LT = Gone. Darren Sproles = 3rd down running back. Ryan Matthews = Complete running back who could help the Chargers fill a huge void on their roster. They have a huge void also at NT and they will look to fill that need in the 2nd round.
29. New York Jets - Everson Griffen, DE, USC
6-3 | 280 lbs. | Junior
Avondale, AZ
They wanted Odrick to fall here, but he did not. Nonetheless, they select a 3-4 defensive end that will help their line for years to come. Everson Griffen has all the talent in the world and likely will succeed in the NFL if he is in the right system with the right coach. Rex Ryan will get him motivated to work and to perform. Rex Ryan... he will probably be at an MMA event rather than in the War Room... so when he is informed of who the team selected he will be thrilled.
30. Minnesota Vikings - Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers
5-11 | 190 lbs. | Senior
Nanuet, NY
Devin McCourty really showed up at the Senior Bowl and improved his stock. The Vikings could select DT Brian Price for the future... because of their aging defensive line. However, Brett Favre won't be playing when he is 50 (cross your fingers) and the Vikings will be looking for someone who can come in day one and contribute. Devin McCourty can contribute to an NFL team today... let alone in September.
31. Indianapolis Colts - Rodger Saffold, OT, Indiana
6-5 | 318 lbs. | Senior
Bedord, OH
The Colts need an offensive tackle and Saffold is clearly the best on the board. He is not an elite prospect but will likely become a starter at either left of right tackle position. On this pick... think Rodger Saffold = Joe Staley. Staley is not an elite left tackle in the NFL... but he is a solid reliable starter.
32. New Orleans Saints - Jerry Hughes, DE, Texas Christian
6-3 | 257 lbs. | Senior
Sugar Land, TX
A Player Bio on Jerry Hughes: Highlights, Stats, Draft Stock, Photos & More
Jerry Hughes is an elite pass rusher. He could be selected as high as 12 in this draft and if he is still on the board the Saints will jump all over him. He presents the greatest value here at 32 and Greg Williams will figure out a way to allow Hughes to get to the quarterback early and often.

Safety has likely the 3 best prospects its had in a long time. The top 3 prospects in the 2010 NFL draft are all 1st round material... and they all have the potential to start day one and make an impact. 2 of them are rangy playmaking safeties, and one is a protoype physical linebacker, with cornerback like speed.
