iPAD

Another great product from Apple

No doubt that iPAD is one of the hottest and most anticipated product in 2010. It is quite a revolutionary product and is the first tablet computer developed by Apple. The iPad is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. on April 3 and the U.S. are able to pre-order the iPad as of March 12, 2010.

If you are planning to buy an ebook reader, iPOD, mini-computer, MP3, MP4, electronic photo album or a laptop, think twice. All these features and functions that you want to buy from these separate product and be found in the iPAD.

It is a touchscreen product similar to the enlarged version of a iPOD. The successfulness of this gadget depends very much on the availability and diversity of the applications compatible with iPAD. With the great success for iPhone and iPod in the Apple apps store, I forsee the same success for drawing huge crowd of IT developers who are willing to invest time to write creative and cool applications.

Definitely iPAD is one of the top gadget in my list to die for in 2010.

It includes the ability to transcribe voice to text, noise canceling dual microphones and GPS guided turn-by-turn voice directions to drivers. QWERTY + TouchScreen Smartphones

Smartphone will definitely be leading the trends in mobile phone market in 2010. While touchscreen are getting common, I expect a hybrid of touchscreen plus the qwerty keyboard to be the next common form factor. The reason is that while touchscreen is easy to navigate, typing is still needed in many of the Internet applications such as browsing, emails and chatting. The combination of Qwerty keyboard and the touchscreen will make a perfect mobile killer phone for the young and internet saavy users.

Last year, Nokia had launched N97, N97 mini and some Nokia E7x models. This year, there is already the Inbrics MID M1 slider Qwerty AMOLED Touchscreen Ultra-thin Android phone Mobile displayed in World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. More of this kind of phone from other Phone company will follow.

Microsoft Tablet

2010 is a Year of the Tablet with Microsoft, HP, Archos and Pegatron joining in the bandwagon as well. Microsoft had announced 3 tablets that run Windows 7. One of them is the HP tablet is a color e-reader running Amazon Kindle software and an estimated arrival on the market by mid-2010. Two other similar products, one from Archos focusing on multimedia and a larger-screen slate from Pegatron, for reading newspapers and magazines.

I am expecting the stylish Microsoft tablet prototype called Courier to be here in 2010. The tablet used two adjacent 7-inch touch screens, connected through a hinge. The software pictured running on the tablet was also new, a combo of the Zune HD and Surface computers interface. 2010 is really the year for Tablet.

3D Nintendo DS

3D Everywhere

2010 is going to be the year for 3-D. Almost everything is heading towards that direction. Nintendo had announced recently in March 2010 that they will launch a successor to the DS/DSi for the next fiscal year (which begins next month in Japan and ends in March 2011).
Nintendo will allow users to experience 3D without goofy glasses. Nintendo has proven to be the leading innovator in gaming since the company was founded. Hopefully it will be backwards compatibile with its vast library of favorites from the older consoles such as the Pokemon games. Nintendo expects to launch the 3DS into retail "during the fiscal year ending March 2011."

For those who do not need the 3D and could not wait to get a DS, there is a new handheld, the DSi XL, that will launch on March 28 in the US.

E-Readers

If you like to read, e-Readers are your good companion. The main advantages of these devices are portability, readability of their screens in bright sunlight and long battery life. Many manufacturers are already making e-readers and many more devices are expected to launch this year. Among the most popular ones are the Amazon Kindle 2, Kindle 3 and Kindle DX, Barnes & Noble nook, Sony PRS-900 and PRS-700.

The dedicated device for e-book will be getting competitive this year and important to consider the availability of ebook format they support and the tie-up with the e-book supplier. In 2010, flexible versions of the gadgets are in the pipeline. Taiwanese technology firm AU optronics was the first to announce late last year that it will be producing its bendable version of the e-reader in 2010. This will make the e-Reader more like a real book.

The gadget works with Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console and translate the movements of a player's body and voice into actions in game. Imagine, you are able to fight your opponents virtually, ALL without a controller.

This gadget will definitely take gaming to a totally new level. Hurray!

3D iPhone Games and Application

3D in iPhone Too

3D seems to be everywhere and iPhone sure is not to be lagged behind. There are already a couples of iPhone applications and games that cleverly use the inbuilt Applications such as 3DeeFriends (which allows you to view your Facebook photo albums and those belonging to your Facebook friends in 3D) and 3DeeVUsion ( lets you turn your own photos saved in the iPhone's photo library into 3D images) are growing and will sure be a hit and trend for 2010. These are all great products you've featured here. The iPad has definitely been one of the more popular ones for 2010. Apparently, India has come out with a prototype for just $35, it doesn't use a hard-drive rather flash storing technology.

Me too! I am thinking of getting one too! It may not be as sexy as iPhone but its camera and HDMI interfaces are really cool and I can double it as a home media player as well as a good general camera.
