What's in Store for The Year of the Rabbit ?

The Year of the Tiger in 2010 was a dramatic and at times tumultuous one, as the tiger's passion and fervor came through in producing a year that was both memorable and difficult. Its successor in 2009, the Year of the Ox, was equally as trying and difficult, with many unforeseen difficulties and rash decisions being made.

As such, in the Year of the Rabbit, 2011 will offer a much needed repose from the tiger's fervor and the ox's brutish stubbornness, as the rabbit is a sign that welcomes peace, diplomacy and cautious tact.

How Does Chinese Astrology Predict Your Future ?

Chinese HoroscopeThe Year of the Rabbit begins on Feburary 3, 2011, which marks the Chinese Lunar New Year, and continues until January 22, 2012.

Typically, Chinese horoscopes dictate the overall trends of each year based on numerous factors, most of which relate to the animal sign that governs that year.

Chinese Astrology

Chinese astrology is based on the traditional astronomy and calendars. Chinese astrology does not calculate the positions of the sun, moon and planets at the time of birth.

The development of Chinese astrology is tied to that of astronomy, which came to flourish during the Han Dynasty (2nd century BC to 2nd century AD).

Chinese astrology has a close relation with Chinese philosophy (theory of the three harmony, heaven, earth and water) and different "principles" to Western: the wu xing teachings, yin and yang, astronomy: five planet, the 10 Celestial stems, the 12 Earthly Branches, the lunisolare calendar (moon calendar and sun calendar), the time calculation after year, month, day and shichen.

Chinastrology @ Crystalinks

Many Chinese people strongly believe that the time of a person's birth is the primary factor in determining that person's personality. Many fortune-tellers, when telling your fortune, say what they need to know is your exact time of birth. Then, whether you are successful in your life and career, or whether you will be happy is clear to the fortune-tellers.

Rabbit Year Love Development

Love will happen easily and quietly for many, and established long term relationships will enjoy a kind of effortless day-to-day routine that might have been absent in recent years. Lovers should enjoy this warm and trouble-free lifestyle, while taking care not to become too stagnant in the relationship or take the other person too much for granted.

Rabbit Occupation in the New Year

Professionally, it will be an easy year to make money without too much struggle and it would be a good year to open a business, while businesses opened in previous years will see an almost effortless increase in their profits. It is important to never become too indulgent, though, as the Year of the Rabbit offers a sense of rest in preparation for the firey, innovative Year of the Dragon in 2012.

    Feng Shui Introduction

    Wikipedia Feng Shui Article

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of aesthetics believed to use the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi.

Historically, feng shui was widely used to orient buildings-often spiritually significant structures such as tombs, but also dwellings and other structures-in an auspicious manner. Depending on the particular style of feng shui being used, an auspicious site could be determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars, or a compass. Feng shui was suppressed in China during the cultural revolution in the 1960s, but has since seen an increase in popularity, particularly in the United States.
