Harley Davidson Sportster History
The Sportster is a line of motorcycles produced continuously since 1957
In 1957, the Harley Davidson Motor Company introduced the first Sportster model that were commonly named "Sporty". These early models were powered by a V Twin motor which was replaced with the Evolution engine in 1986. The Evolution motor came in 883cc and 1200cc hence the marker for the 2012 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 883.
