Sarah Palin April Fools Joke

Happy April! According to many sources on March 31st. Sarah Palin was expected to make a major announcement on April 1st 2011 about her candidacy for the United States President. However, this turned out to just be an April Fools joke. Sources questioned Palin's husband who confirmed that she isn't going to make an announcement on the 'Bob and Mark In the Morning' radio show in Anchorage, and furthermore she isn't even speaking as a guest on the show.

Will She Run As an Independent?

Some people are indicating that if Palin is running, it won't be as a republican. Palin has made alternative arrangements to speak in Denver at a fundraiser during the first republican presidential debate on May 2nd. However, Palin could run as an independent to rally republican voters who are dissatisfied with the republican nominee. Some argue that current republican hopefuls might not be what the tea party is looking for, and Palin could be waiting to run as the Tea Party's candidate.

Moreover the media has recently toned its message on Palin due to her not being dismissed as a Fox New analysis. Newt Gingrich, who recently formed an exploratory committee for president, was dismissed from his position for ethical reasons. Rick Santorum was also dismissed, but has yet to make an official announcement. However Palin could be mum on her real plans for 2012 which has helped her maintain her position at Fox News. Mike Huckabee was not dismissed from his Fox and he is considered to be a very likely candidate as he is leading the current polls.

In a BBC interview, former governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said money would be a major component to whether or not she will run in 2012. She cited Obama is willing to spend over a billion dollars on his campaign and agreed it would be a tough fight with finances. Many have argued that Palin wouldn't be a pliable candidate in the general election against Obama. However, she is in a reasonable third place in the republican polls for likable candidates. Palin said she will keep speaking on the issues until she is ready to make an official announcement.

She has made some missteps in the past, which some think will hinder her chances at being seen as a legitimate candidate. Although, she has had to learn about being in the spotlight the hard way and wasn't always aware that her every move was being watched. The infamous writing on her hand was arguably one of her largest political gaffes. If she should decide to run, Palin and her supporters hope America is forgiving.
