We love Walt Disney World

My family and I love Walt Disney World.

There is so much to do and so much to see, that 6 visits later, there are still things we haven't done. Also, if you decide to just relax, Disney can accomodate you with any number of pools, spas and even golf (miniature and PGA, if you find that relaxing).

Over the years our trips have changed since it's very different visiting Walt Disney World with 3 yr old twins, who think that Cinderella's Golden Carousel is the greatest ride in the world, to more adventurous 8 yr olds who's favorite rides are Space Mountain (my daughter) and Test Track (my son).

But during all those trips we've discovered some favorite attractions that we always go back to, and restaurants that we love to eat at. So here is my collection of lenses inspired by some of our favorite Walt Disney World expereinces.

Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom is Expanding

Watl Disney World's Magic Kingdom is currently undergoing its lagrest expansion ever. They will double the size of Fantasyland

Opening in 2 parts, in 2012 and 2013, the enhanced Fantasyland will include more interactive attractions. Your little princess will be able to visit the 'homes' of for three of the Disney Princesses, go on the Journey of the Little Mermaid, and enjoy a renovated and expanded version of Dumbo's Flying Circus.

Additionally, the Magic Kingdom will be introducing the Pirates League. Inspired by the popularity of the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique, and the highly popular Pirates of the Caribbean movie (and ride) your little scalawag can now get made up with bandana, scars, tattoos, fake teeth and eye patches. New Pirates are also invited to participate in the daily Pirates Parade which winds its way through Adventureland.

Some of our Favorite Disney Attractions

Disney World is an escape from reality for children of all ages, and every child has their favorite way to escape. Some like roller coasters and thrill rides (me), some like going fast (my son), some like the stage shows and shops (my wife), some like to be treated like a princess (my daughter).

Disney allows you to be a part of the action, in several of their live stage shows, and alwo gives you the opportunity to explore different parts of the world at your own leisure.

Disney Travel Tips

Having visited Walt Disney World for each of the past 6 years, we've learned a few things about how to make the most out of our vacation time. This typically starts several months before we even leave as we decide which restaurants we're going to be making reservations at (we always get the Dining Plan), an dcontinues with scheduling which park(s) we'll be visiting during each day of our stay.

The closer it gets to vacation time, as we start to pack, we always look through the park maps from the previous year, check the web for the extended weather forecasts, and make sure we have plenty of sun screen.

Our Favorite Places to Eat

The food at Walt Disney World offers something for everyone. Disney is one of the few vacation destinations that you don't need to worry about finding something suitable for the kids to eat. As a matter fo fact, with all of the character dining options, it's sometimes more difficult to decide which restaurant to go to.

For the culinary adventurous, EPCOT offers a world of cuisines to choose from, in addition to the many themed resorts maintain their authenticity right down to the decor and menus of their restaurants and food courts.

Disney World Resorts

For us, the best way to enjoy our Walt Disney World vacation is to stay on the Disney property. This means selecting from their value, moderate and luxury resorts, each of which is uniquely themed.

Naturally your choice of resort will greatly depend on who's with you (young children, older children, just you and significant other) and what amenities you're looking for (pool, spa, golf, safari).

Non Theme Park Attractions

As I said before, there are so many things to do at Walt Disney World, that you can spend days enjoying yourself without ever going to any of the theme parks. For us, this is one of the best features of a vacation at Disney World, it's like one-stop-shopping, everything you need to have a great vacation is right there.

Theme parks with thrill rides? Obviously.

Broadway style live stage shows? Got those too.

Water Parks? Two to choose from.

PGA rated golf courses (and miniature ones for the kids)? You bet

Shopping and night life? Got that too.

Oh yeah, don't forget there's also Mickey, Minnie, and lots of Princesses.
