I have spent more than 25 years as a massage therapist. I have enjoyed all that this profession has to offer. I am happy to say, that I no longer have an office or office hours due to an opportunity I engaged in that was supportive to my massage clients and my bank account at the same time.
After years of massaging an average of 8-12 hours a day for five days a week, my body started to show signs of discomfort. My knuckles ached, my feet hurt when they hit the floor every morning, and if I didn't stretch daily, I was in pain. I have to admit, I wondered how I could do this for the rest of my working life. I just had to bite the bullet and face the pain. And, by the way, sadly to say, we had not stashed funds away for our retirement, as we never made enough money to do that. The fact is we were in debt. I wondered, "Can I ever retire?" I am happy to share the solution that showed up in my life thanks to my wife's diligent research on how to make residual income. I am now able to speak of this business as ours, because I work this business through several means now. This wasn't always the case. When my wife first brought up the possibility of doing a network marketing business I was not in the least bit interested. I used all of the usual reasons. I was already working full-time, (and more) at my massage practice. I needed time for my family and myself in addition to the demands of being a home owner. I just didn't have the time, inclination or interest, and I never met anyone who made money in network marketing. I thought it was a pyramid scam.
I said, "But, you go ahead dear, I'll be behind you all the way!" Way behind, like don't even tell me about that stuff, because I don't want to know, thank you very much. Well, of course it didn't take long to find out about the products, as they were in the house. I got to use them daily and discovered how much I enjoyed using them. The more I was exposed to the products and the business the more I was exposed to the people doing this business with my wife. I realized that I was wrong, this was not a pyramid scam, this was a legitimate business. My wife and our business partners all started making an abundance of money and today we are some of the top producers in our chosen business. I found that these people are all devoted to making a difference in the world. They are dedicated to helping others in achieving financial freedom. These people are now some of my best friends and I am happy to be on their team. When I reflected back on the beginning of my massage practice, back on learning the techniques and so on, I didn't think for a minute I would be doing massage 25 years later. I didn't think that I would make this anatomy, physiology and technique structure into an actual enjoyable and profitable business. It took time and an open mind; along with a willingness to learn and to allow attitudes to shift from skepticism to action-for learning to turn into profit. When I began to look at network marketing in this light I was able to begin the shift. I realized that without making changes to what I was doing and how I make money I could never retire from massage therapy. I noticed one startling difference between network marketing and massage therapy. Once I put in lots of hard work into building my massage practice it was still true that I only got paid when I performed massage on a client. No one in all of these years has sent me a check in the mail on a weekly basis because I oriented and educated them into the subtleties of massage one time. In our network marketing business we work intensively with our new people to train them in all the ways they can become successful in their new business venture. They work, study learn and then go into action on their own. At this point, we all still continue to work together but they are training their new people in the same way we trained them.
Many times in my massage career I have been asked what to call the type of massage I do. I had to answer with a title and then follow that up with an explanation. There are many well qualified massage therapists in the world. Some better qualified than me some not as qualified. Many of us studied the exact same techniques; however the execution will always be different from one person to the next.
In our network marketing business the techniques which lead to success are not so much about personality as they are about execution. There are really only a few techniques which lead to success and it is the repetition of these and the STYLE with which they are executed that leads to a successful business. I want to let you know that network marketing is a business, not magic or a scam. Like any business we must focus our attention on the techniques that others before us have perfected and then learn to put them into practice in order to be successful. There is a world of support out here to help you get started in your own network marketing business to obtain your financial freedom. I hope also that you will find how through commitment and perseverance you can enjoy your way to a replacement income for what you are currently doing. And what's more, you can continue to get paid week after week on your diligence right from the beginning of your new career.
There are many highly paid and highly respected people, (like Donald Trump, Mark Victor Hanson, Robert Kiyosaki, T Harv Ecker etc.) advancing the idea that network marketing is one of the fastest, cheapest and most reliable ways for anyone with the drive to do so-to reach beyond their financial limitations into a future filled with financial possibilities. No matter how good you are at what you are doing and no matter how long you have been doing it or how well you are paid for doing it, some day you will want to slow down. What will happen to your income when that day comes? I respectfully suggest that you don't rely on hearsay to make your decision about your future, but do your own diligence.
