2 Person Tents are a critical item for the back packer. They have to weigh many variables in picking a tent. Some of those variables are price, size, weight, features and seasonality.2 person tents can range from the ever popular and basic Eureka Timberline tent to super high tech mountaineering tents that can protect their owners in sub-Arctic conditions. The cost of a 2 person tent can range from $35 dollars at Walmart to over $1000 for a technical mountain tent and they fit everywhere in between. A good compromise for most campers is a tent that ranges from $90 like the Gigatent Big Bend to a Sierra Designs Baku II Ultralight for about $225.00.
One of the important things to consider is when you are going to go camping. If you are only camping in the summer you just need to be sure that your tent will protect you from the rain. If you are backpacking into the wilderness in Spring or Fall you should be sure to have no less than a 3 season tent to be safe if the weather turns cold.
Do your research and consider all your needs before you purchase your 2 person tent and you will be a "Happy Camper".
