You should always personalize your email messages to increase your response rates.

Here are 2 ways to Personalize the Message to increase clickthrough/open rates of your emails.

1) Personalized URL (PURL) in Message.

If you are going to redirect people to a website make sure the url is personalized mysite.com/clint.steiner instead of just mysite.com. You are then able to personalize that landing page to that specific client. If they purchased a product from you in the past your text could say "Hey Clint, hopefully you are enjoy the Widget. I have another killer product that will compliment it and increase your business.."

Do you think you would increase your click-throughs if you put the personalized URL in the subject of the email?

2) Personalized Audio Messages in each Email.

Created a personalized audio message for each email recipient. For example you might have the following message in your email. "Clint, glad you are enjoying our blog and keeping updated on our widgets. I created an audio message just for you and I hope you get a chance to listen to it right now as it is time sensitive. Click here to listen to the message mysite.com/clint.steiner"

I recommend sending them to the same landing page as in Step 1 above so you can also include personalized text. The Audio message will automatically start playing when they visit the website.

Don't be overwhelmed by the idea of creating thousands of landing pages and personalized messages as there are software programs that will handle this task for you.

If you use these 2 techniques in your email marketing you can increase your click-throughs and get more traffic to your main site.
