Former fatty reveals: I used to be fat, now I'm not... Wanna know how?...

A few years ago, I would spend my time eating at the desk in my father's business, instead of going out to lunch for a sandwich, I would take crisps, chocolate and soft drinks to give me what I thought was an "energy boost" to keep me working into the late hours to get projects finished.

This made me really fat....

When I say FAT, I mean hugely overweight.

During this time I was focusing on building an offline business and an internet marketing business as an affiliate. All of this work sat at a computer and meetings in restaurants made me into a big, fat slobbering mess..

I was always able to get around, but boy was it difficult.

The day I snapped was just a regular day, nothing special. My thoughts in that morning just made me sure that fitness and a new regime was the only way I was ever going to find happiness. Financially free, confident in a private setting, but my weight dragged me down to a depressed, insecure mess when in public.

Today.. I stand at 5' 9" and have a very toned, slightly muscular physique.

No joke..

Did I starve myself to get thin?... NO.

Did I run, and run, and run every day to get fit?... NO.

I followed a precise diet regime that I found on the internet (ironic, no?) and started going to the gym twice a week for light workouts. It was EASY to lose weight once I found the right guidance that was going to work for me and my schedule. I finally Understand How Diets Work.

And now I work full time from home and exercise in my home gym and the local gym at least 5 hours a week, through choice, not because I NEED to lose weight.

It is a choice for me now.

Not only does this serve to be a perfect and realistic fit for you and your lifestyle, but you can gradually reduce all other damaging areas of your life. Your lifestyle choices are a major factor in your balancing act of food on the go and staying fit.

I found that most of the time I would carry a dieting book to read and grab my mind whilst I was travelling, this is one of the most important aspects of my personal weight loss success.

It's crazy, because you can read a book completely about food, yet your hunger remains under wraps because the reading focuses your mindset on the better side of food, which is managing what you eat and still enjoying your meals and tasty treats.

Your chances of losing the weight increase greatly if you're mentally prepared to accept the challenge.

Stay away from fad diets promising you'll lose a ton of weight quickly.

These diets can negatively impact your health with a wide variety of serious side effects, they are created with "diet jumpers" in mind. The creators of fad diets and regimes know 100% that there is a market out there that will literally eat up (excuse the pun) anything they create because the "diet jumpers" never stick to a solid regime so they will follow the herd any which way in order to feel a part of something...

Don't be a "diet jumper".. Be a Diet Beater!!!

Keep track of what types of foods you're putting into your body to become more self-aware.

What kinds of foods are you eating?

You may think that the foods you crave are enjoyable because you love them, but this isn't true, your desire for food can be fulfilled with a wide variety of healthier and tasty options, remember I say this from knowing both sides of this coin.

Hitting the vending machine in the break room at work should be avoided at all costs unless it contains healthy snacks.

What types of exercise to you get on a daily basis?

Look for ways to increase your caloric burn throughout your day. This is important as you will naturally increase this as you become more accustomed to your new lifestyle. Allow yourself to do this gradually and you won't even notice the change, as I said above. Keep yourself a diet diary or book from a book store and you will be able to stay focused all day long without worrying about your next "fix".

Obesity typically runs in the family. Does anyone else in your family suffer from weight problems. You may need to look deeper into your weight loss issues if your family has had weight troubles in the past, there is a definite connection here so if you know of family members above you in your family tree then be sure to visit a doctor to discuss this.

What's your age and how is it related? The older we get, the more our metabolism slows, so keep moving to stoke those calorie burning fires! It may seem more difficult to do "more" exercise, but remember.. exercise doesn't have to be an all out body workout, you can start with light exercise and keep it regular. Multiple reasons exist as to why people want to lose weight.

They may want to be healthier, look better, have more energy and feel better. Regardless of the reason, a healthy weight loss program will address all of these factors.

Remember to set sensible goals and expectations with yourself as it is major factor in your success. In fact a goal like losing 10% of your body weight can have a great overall impact on your health.
