Does Your XBox 360 Have The Dreaded 3 Rings Of Death?

Last summer I was all set to load up Call of Duty and get started blasting grunts with my team. I turned on my XBox 360 and was just getting started when my XBox died. Then I saw them...those dreaded 3 rings of death. I did a quick Google search and found out I was in big trouble. According to what I found those 3 rings of death meant a general hardware failure and about all that could be done was to send it back to Microsoft.

I was getting ready to send it back to Microsoft when I found out that it can take up to 8 weeks to get it back. I sure didn't want to be without my XBox 360 for that long. I started looking into other ways of fixing my XBox and getting rid of those 3 rings of death on my own.

There is a lot of information out there about how to get rid of the 3 rings of death on your XBox 360. I looked at all kinds of different methods that I found online. There were some that seemed pretty good, but most of them were just plain dumb. The main thing that I found out was how much I didn't know.

I couldn't believe some of the methods I saw online. Have you tried the "towel method" yet? If you haven't, don't and if you have, then you probably already know that wrapping your XBox 360 in a towel is probably going to burn your console to a crisp.

Then there is the method that has you take your console apart and take a soldering iron to it. Hey, I don't know about you, but I am not as good as a robot at soldering. I didn't want to take the chance of really screwing something up. I could just see me turning my XBox 360 back on and not only not having the 3 rings of death, but not having any lights at all.
