A Small Town in the Big City

Decatur, GA is one of the small towns in the big city of Atlanta. This jewel has been discovered by many people in the past few years. The town is adding pluses all of the time.

I love the restaurants, the atmosphere, the Decatur Book Festival, Concerts on the Square, Eddie's Attic, the Brick Store Pub, the nearby Your DeKalb Farmer's Market , the small town feel, the Corner Pub, fireworks on the 4th and the New Year, the Decatur Arts Festival, Twain's Billiards and Tap, the old Courthouse, and the Decatur Cemetery.

Great place to live or visit.

B&B's around Decatur

Not the usual suspects

I like staying at B&B's because they are not all from the same cookie cutter. Here are three in or near Decatur.

Mileybright Farmhouse was built in 1900 by Judge John S. Candler. Tom Forkner, co-founder of Waffle House restaurants, was born here. Well worth a look.
Reviews of the farmhouse are offered.

Sycamore House is actually in Decatur near downtown. This site offers a reviews of the house, built in 1905. The location is great for visiting Decatur, and is within three blocks of the MARTA station, if you want to visit other areas.

Garden House Bed and Breakfast is another B&B located near downtown Decatur. You can find reviews here.
