How To Create A Website In 30 Days
Ready? Let's start our course!
Day One
Get A Domain Name And A Web Host
Godaddy.com
If you plan to buy only one domain name but want to build several websites, prefer to chose a domain name that reflects what you do or what the subjects of your websites will be or chose your own name as domain name.
Example: if you plan to create websites dedicated to pets, choose:
http://www.allaboutpets.com
OR
http://www.yourname.com
You will then create sub-domains or folders for each one of the websites you will add.
Example sub-domain: http://dog-care.allaboutpets.com
Example folder: http://www.allaboutpets.com/dog-care
There are many cheap web hosting options available on the Internet. Once you have your domain name and your host, you are ready to start to create your site.
Day Two
Select Your Niche Market
Example: if your passion is home improvement and if you read tons of books and magazines dedicated to this subject, then you can chose this kind of niche to start building your website.
Once you will have selected your niche, join the affiliate programs that best match the kind of market you decided to work on. You will use these programs to monetize your new site.
Day Three
Create Your Site
2. You can also use a simple HTML template (you can find free templates on the Internet on sites such as freecsstemplates.org) and work on it with Notepad (HTML editor) or NVU (WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Get) editor.
Once you decided the tool you will use, then think about your site title as it will become the name of the file where you will upload all your pages.
Example: let's say that your first website is dedicated to dog-care and that the title of your site is "Dog Care" then the name of the folder or the subdomain where you will upload your site will be "dog-care".
The folder must be called something related to your choice of niche.
Create your first web page and upload it in the main public_html directory of your hosting account. This page needs to be called "index.html" or "index.php" (depending if you want to create .html or .php pages).
Day Four
Add Content
Tip: write an introduction to your new site or a guided tour of the site; which will become your single page when you will add other articles to it.
If you have difficulties in writing by yourself, choose an article available in the article directories such as www.ezinearticles.com or www.goarticles.com, etc.
Day Six
Adding Your Adsense Code
Tips to maximise your Adsense revenue:
- Embed your Adsense codes IN your content area (for example, let it fload on the right or on the left of your text),
- Preferabilly use 300x250 or 336x280 sizes,
- Use colors that match with your site or simply use black ads (they must not look as a simple block of ads).
You may add up to three Adsense blocks on your page PLUS
1 Adsense Themed Unit.
Check your page title and meta description in order to have relevant ads on your page and change your page title to reflect exactly your page's subject.
Check your Adsense account to Make sure your impressions count is greater than zero.

Day Seven
Add A Links Page
This step is important as you'll have to use this page later.
Day Eight
Create A Blog
If you create your blog on Blogger.com, go in "settings" and ensure you that "site feeds" is regulated on "full" and add your Adsense code in the "Article Footer" box. Once that is done, publish your blog.
Then go into your Yahoo mailbox - if you do not have one, create one - and click on "My Yahoo" ; select "content" and then "add rss feed" ; type in the RSS feed link of your blog and then on "add". Your first blog post will then appear on your My Yahoo page and be spidered.
Once it is done, go to http://pingoat.com, re-type your blog name and link as explained above and then on "submit". Other sites will be informed about the update of your blog.
Repeat these operations each time you post on your blog.
From Day Nine To Day Fifteen
Write Some Articles
Today you will write your first article ; this article will be related to the subject of your website. Write a minimum of 350 words.
If you have difficulties to write an article yourself, you can write the principal lines of your article and then make a search to find similar websites. Look for articles on the same subject than yours and pick up some ideas or sentences that you will rewrite with your own words and add to your own article.
If you do not like to write, choose an article from an article directory such as www.ezinearticles.com, www.goarticles.com, etc.
Day Twelve
It takes only some minutes to select an article in an article directory. But it is preferable to write your articles yourself: search engines love unique content.
Day Fifteen
Blog Posting... Each time you upload a new article on your server, post a description of this article on your blog and a link to your new article. Ping the posts in your "My Yahoo" and in Pingoat.
Write a new article.
Make a search on your favorite search engine and select a few articles directories and join them (ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, isnare.com, etc.) Submit the first article you wrote. Remember to include a link to your new niche site in the resource box.
Day Eighteen
Add A Sitemap
Do not add Adsense codes on your sitemap as it does have no content.
Once it's done, go to: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com and create a ".xml" sitemap.
Upload the ".xml" sitemap on your computer and go to: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ (Google Webmaster Tools); register or login with your gmail identifier. Add the URL of your site, upload the sitemap and follow Google's instructions in order to verify your site. Your site is now ready to be indexed by Google.
At this moment, your site contains a homepage, some articles, a links page and a sitemap. You already received a certain number of visitors thanks to the articles you submitted to the articles directories.
Day Nineteen
Blog Posting
Submit the articles your wrote to the article directories in order to drive visitors to your site.
Day Twenty-One
Focus On Content
Write two new articles.
Once the first article is finished, upload it on your server, and write a blog post about it. Ping this post. Repeat the steps for the second article. Update your sitemap with the links to these articles.

Day Twenty-Four
Search Box, Site Counter, Articles Submission
Add a search box to your site. Log into your Google Adsense account, select "search settings" and follow the instructions on how to create a search box. Copy the code and paste it on each of your web pages. I usually put large search box at the bottom of my pages and a small box on the top of the navigation menu. If your visitors make a search on your site and click on the result, you will earn money :)
Site Counter
Go to www.statcounter.com and apply for an account. Configure a new counter and copy/paste its code at the bottom of each of your web pages. You may choose to create a visible or an invisible counter (I usually use an invisible counter). You will then be able to track the number of visitors your site receives, its keywords activity and some other interesting things.
Articles Submission
Once it is done, submit an article to the articles directories and another one in two days. That will drive new visitors to your website.
Day Twenty-Five
Find Partner Links
For example, if your website is weight loss related, search for weight loss, weight loss surgery, weight loss programs, etc. websites.
Select a few of them (5 up to 10 ; not more) and add their link or your links page. It is important to add their link on your site before asking they link to your site. Some websites have a "link to us" or "links" page and you will follow their instructions to add your link on their page. Some other websites do not have this kind of page and you will have to contact the webmaster requesting a link back to your site.
Write a short email saying something like "Hi, I have a website with a subject similar to yours - short description of your site - and added a link to your site - your links page URL - and would appreciate a link back to mine, etc."
Wait for two weeks and if you don't get any answer, delete the link.
Day Twenty-Six
Create Your Mailing List
Apply for an autoresponder. If you haven't one or do not know where to find one, get my free complete guide - you do not have to sign up for anything, just go to the page and download the guide
Then create your newsletter: write the articles yourself or buy PLR articles. The articles included in your newsletter must be related to your niche site.
Tip: Get more Adsense earnings by publishing your newsletter online as an extension of your website. So, if your website link is: "http://dogs.allaboutpets.com" ; your newsletter address will be: "http://dogs.allaboutpets.com/newsletter/issuenumberX.html".
Day Twenty-Seven
Keyword Research
The keyword tool generally used by webmasters is "Wordtracker". I personally use Adwords Keyword Generator and "Keyword Elite". In this example, we will use "http://www.goodkeywords.com" as it is a free tool. Download it and install it. Let's continue with the Dogs terms...
So, type "dog" and then submit (always use the singular term in your keywords research).
The software returns a list of related terms ; the "count" column shows you how many times the keywords have been searched within the previous month. Scroll down the Good Keywords page to find keywords related to the subject of your site but with with less competition than for "dog".
You are not ready to compete against 100,000,000 other websites ;-)
Let's assume that the keywords you will use are:
- dog care
- dog supplies
- dog training
- dog collar
- dog types
Day Twenty-Eight
Social Bookmarking and Driving Traffic
Go to www.prosperity66.com/bookmark, insert your website link and click on "submit". You will now copy and paste the code into each of your web pages. You may choose to add the text code (you may change the text as you want) or the icons code (in this case, you will have to save the pictures on your computer and upload them to your server). I personally use the text code that I changed to "bookmark this site".
When people will visit your site, they will be thus able to bookmark your pages.
You will also join these social bookmarking sites and bookmark your own pages (it is very important to not bookmark more than 5 pages per day as you may be accused to spam) on these sites.
What I personally do is that, when Associated Content has published the articles I submitted, I bookmark these articles instead of my webpages.
Join some forums related to the subject of your niche site. Complete your profile and signature by adding your website link and a description of your niche site. Make up to five posts within one week - no spam posts - and ensure you that you do not try to sell something through your posts. Write your thoughts or share your ideas about the posts in a topic or two.
You'll sell your products through your newsletter.
You may also create a Squidoo lens dedicated to the subject of your niche site ;-) Remember that, whenever you build Squidoo pages, to play by the rules. Have a look at For me a Good Squidoo Lens is... if you need help to do this.
Day Twenty-Nine
Monetize Your Articles
First of all these articles must be articles you wrote yourself and not articles from other authors.
What we will talk about is "contextual links".
What is it?
It is a link placed in context via a special code.
Here is an example:
"Welcome to our comprehensive weight loss resource. This website provides a lot of information about weight loss."
When you click on the underlined words (weight loss), you are redirected to the merchant's site. It is known that this kind of links have a high conversion rate.
To use this kind of links, you will have to type <a href="your-link"
target="_blank">weight loss</a> and it will appear like this on your web page: weight loss.
Html links like this one are available at Commisson Junction, Clickbank, Amazon, All-Posters, etc.
Day Thirty
Congratulations!
You've just created your first income earning website and surely, you've got a few Adsense dollars!
Write an article per week, until your site contains 30 up to 60 articles. Submit these articles to the articles directories, make a post on your blog for each one of these articles and pign the post.
Now what? Start again with another website...
