We call these earrings 30 Degree Wire Spiral earrings because the pattern for the main portion of the body of the earrings is made on the 30 degree radials on a round peg pattern jewelry making jig and the top of the main portion of the body is a spiral. This is an advanced beginner's jewelry making project.

The Project
We made a similar earring and displayed it along with a lot of other jewelry at the International Gem and Jewelry Show in Tucson, AZ this month and the earrings received several positive comments. We first made that earring about a year ago, and it received the deadly critical response "it's not my favorite" from our professional jewelry critic and Boomer's Mom, Suzanne. Because of this unfavorable review, we did not bother documenting instructions for how to make that earring. Now, after the show in Tucson, it seems that there are alternative opinions on these earrings and for that reason, we are now motivated to document how to make these earrings.
Jewelry Making Supplies Tools Required
Eighteen 6mm Swarovski Crystal, Round Beads
Twelve 2x4mm Bugle Beads
20 inches of 18 gauge round, preferably soft jewelry wire,
2 inches of 20 gauge round jewelry wire,
1 pair of commercial ear wires, and
6 head pin findings.
Ruler,
Flush cutter ,
Round nose pliers,
Bent chain nose pliers (2),
Nylon jaw pliers,
Fine Step Jaw Pliers,
WigJig Centaur or Cyclops Jewelry Making Tool,
Spiral Maker for your Jig,
30 minutes of free time
