- My wife and I went there this last summer with my inlaws. It was a pretty island and the lighthouse was nice to visit. It was lacking in beach front though. Definitely a nice place to go if you like a laid back atmosphere.

- If you enjoy small town life, the Golden Isles is a very nice place to raise a family. There aren't as many opportunities as in a city - Jacksonville and Savannah are an hour away - but there are plenty of sports activities, skate board parks, pools, kayaking, dance studios, a nice Y, swim teams, etc. Plus, of course, the beaches.
