    I am middle aged , started to run 10k races on 2001 but never had a problem with my knees and ankles.

    Just a note...alcohol is full of calories, which can cause you to gain weight. Hence the term beer belly. your drinking is probably counteracted by your running 3k a day...but I'd still be careful and watch it.

    Also...congrats on running 3k a day! I can barely run 3 blocks lol

    Just be careful of those knees and ankles. Running isn't always a good idea for middle aged people.

    Running is very important of you want to stay in good shape. You don't necessarily need a treadmill to run - you can go run in the park - all you need is a good pair of running shoes.
