3rd rock from the sun tv show

This show is about 4 aliens, their usual life form is 'gelatine purple tubes' are sent to Earth to study Humans. Doing this they have to transform in Human Bodies. The eldest becoming the youngest, the youngest becoming the eldest, the Security and weapons expert becoming the woman and well the 'Spare seat' was taken by one more who really didnt change much at all. The Humor in the show is how they react to their emotions and to how others react. Not accustomed to having feelings or emotions they find themselves more curious about there own bodies and emotions more often then focusing on their mission. The way they perceive everyday happenings really makes you stop and think 'hey I can see why they would think that'. As in the picture they are not sure about a washing machine. Other things that intrigue them are ATMs, Food transport to name a few. Definitely well worth the watch for everyone.

John Lithgow plays Dick Solomon
Dick is the High Commander of the team and head of the mission to Earth. But he is also the most childish one of the group and the youngest of the crew but in human form he is oldest. Many of the incidents the team find themselves in is usually because of what Dick has gotten them into with his self absorbed attitude and arrogance. He is also a Professor of Physics at the University
Kristen Johnson plays Sally Solomon
Sally has a rank of Lieutenant and is the security officer. She has been referred to as Dick's sister and Tommy's sister. Sally was the woman of the team because she lost a contest. Sally finds it difficult trying to figure out womanhood. She is very strong and doesnt back down form no one no matter what there size is.

French Stewart plays Harry Solomon
Harry was not actually part of the mission but got the spare seat anyway. He has a chip in his head and he communicates with the Big Giant Head their leader by receiving incoming messages from him. Harry is not very bright at all and goes from one casual to the next but he very artistic when it comes to the arts like music, drawing and painting.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tommy Solomon
Tommy is the Information Officer he plays as Dick's son, but he is actually the oldest and smartest of them all. Tommy although very smart finds it hard coping as a teenager and going through peer pressure etc.

Jane Curtin plays Dr Mary Albright
Mary is a professor and also works at the university with Dick . Mary is totally appalled and turned off by Dicks lack of sensitivity at first, but later can't seem to resist his childish ways & charm and they soon begin an on and off again relationship which in itself makes for some very funny moments and visual comedy.
. Simbi Khali plays Nina Campbell
Nina is Dick and Mary's admin assistant, who does not like putting up with Dick demands. Nina thinks Dick is a sexist idiot and a jerk and most of the time cant stand to be around him.

Wayne Knight plays Officer Don Leslie Orville
Don works for police. He is not very good at his job and is shows. Sally falls for him as he has a gun and they have an on again off again relationship.
Elmarie Wendel plays Mrs. Mamie Dubcek
Mrs Dubcek is the Solomons landlady who is a very active siciakky often with the mailman milkman etc She has a friendly relationship with her tenants.
