THIS HOUSE NEEDS A FAMILY

My husband and I bought this house thirteen years ago. We lived here for all of that time. It is a good house and I hope it finds a good family to move into it soon. It looks so lonely without people inside, or outside, for that matter.

I go over there often, to take care of the lawn and flowers. My husband is almost finished remodeling it. He finished the drywall and gave the whole inside a new coat of paint. We replaced the old cabinets with newer ones, so there is a lot more storage space than when we lived here. There is a great deal more counter top work space now too. The next thing to be finished are the bathroom and kitchen floors. They are getting new laminate; the same wood look stuff that we put in the new house. It will be very pretty. Did I mention that the kitchen is huge? It is very large and now the space has been utilized properly. (Before there was only three cabinets and three feet of counter top.)

My son keeps teasing me about my wanting to move back into the old house now. Not a chance! I love my new house too. There are a lot of memories in the old house, but I have many photos for walking down memory lane.

That house looks nothing like it did when we bought it. When we bought it, it was a dumpy looking house with no second floor, and one bedroom. Now it is a three bedroom house.

Originally, as the locals tell it, the house was once the Catholic church. Where the garden is now located, there was a farm house that was taken apart to add on to the church building to make it into a house. Why was this done? Because the parish decided to take the church from Ouray and move it down here (circa 1940). To this day, the Catholic church sits at the top of the hill on the same street.

We really have no idea how old the house is, but when my husband took the roof off, he found a newspaper dated 1911 tacked to a roof rafter.

This house needs a family.

Sounds like a house I'd like, but I'm pretty happy where I am. I didn't realize you were moving. Seems not long ago I read a lens on your remodeling of this house, and I thought you were planning to stay there. I guess I'm behind the times. I hope you find a buyer soon.

We have been building a new house and remodeling this one for sale. This house is just too small since my mother came to live with us. When we bought it we planned to stay here forever and started remodeling it for ourselves, but we found a place just outside of town and started building a new house. The new house is pictured on my Vision Board lens.
