This cake is actually in the shape of the number 40. You can do this by buying cake pans that are in the shape of numbers. Be sure to check the size of the cake pans, as there are some commonly sold that are "mini-cake" sizes, and the numbered pans are way too small for this size of cake. I have found one seller on eBay that sells the large number cake pans, however check the shipping rates as they are an international shipper.
