EmploymentCrossing
The advent of the Internet invited all manner of business expansion, including in the job search industry. Internet users attempted to take advantage of the instant communication and the massive amounts of information available on the Internet. EmploymentCrossing capitalizes on the need for this product, on behalf of job seekers they offer free services. Those services consist of keeping track of over 2 million job listings across the United States. They collect listings from over 250,000 websites and job boards in an attempt to condense all of the available information on the Internet into one centralized location. Included amongst those listings are job openings from all Fortune 500 companies and Fortune 1000 companies.
But EmploymentCrossing is not a job board sales company that tries to benefit at the expense of job seekers, it is a research institution designed to help job seekers by providing a central location where they can attain all available information on the hundreds of thousands of active job listings in the country. Their trained research staff consists of attorneys, engineers, librarians, and researchers-geeks. These geeks find, research, and classify thousands upon thousands of jobs daily so that they can categorize them and place them in one centralized location.
Job boards, on the other hand, charge companies for their placement of job opportunities on their boards and this tends to skew the posted job openings toward larger and more profitable companies, to the detriment of the job seeker.
