5 Reasons Why Your Printer Add's Didn’t Look Good

Flyers and other printing material are an essential part for any business to advertise their services and thrive.

The process in creating this is called sheet fed printing but its also known as Offset Printing. Multiple sheets are fed into the printer, the sheet fed printer prints within the boundary lines to give you the desired results. It's a simple easy process that is used widely to produce mass quantities of quality flyers at low cost. However in the off change that your print outs still don't look 100% you should realize that there might be some more significant changes needed in the process.

The difference between a good and bad print can mean the difference between failure and success in your business, it's important that your print is as accurate as possible as this is represents the face of the business. A good quality print that has been laid out and designed properly will attract more customers and give a better impression of the face of your business.

In this article I will discuss some of the most common reasons why you're print don't look 100% after sheet fed printing. These are more systematic mistakes that you want to check for in the design and printing process.

You didnt Use the standard template

Sheet fed printers will always have to accept a specific type or size of sheet. In fact most sheet fed printers have pre-set device structures to precisely position standard sheets for perfect printing each time. What trips this system off and what maybe the cause of bad printing is when you avoid using the common or standard templates.

Using a most customized template means that the sheet fed prints will just try its best to adapt that uncommon design to the standard sheet it had.
The results in misaligning prints that just do not look good after printing. That's why in sheet fed printing, it's highly recommended that you use common standard templates in your design.

You failed to follow the margin guidelines

Another possible mistake that will cause bad aligned printouts is when the design falls outside of the print margin guidelines. Those guide lines are places there for a reason. They mark where your content elements are limited to on the print out. Anything outside the guidelines won't print and will either be chopped off or squashed into the printing section on the page.

If you choose to go beyond the margins then you can guarantee yourself bad looking prints that won't be worth printing, so make a point to always follow the margin guidelines.

You didnt add printing bleeds

You might have also forgotten to add printing bleeds. A printing bleed in an extension of your design (more often this is background images or art) that is added to compensate for irregulars in the printing and cutting.

This allows the design to look seamless even though some of the sides might have been printed or folded in a slightly crooked fashion. If you forget about these bleeds you will run the risk of having white spots or lines in your prints looking to bad looking materials.

You didnt proof read your design and content

Another common reason why your prints may not look good is because you didn't proof read your design and its contents. While it may look good at first there may be many small type errors and mistakes in your design that may make your prints look less than ideal. Proof reading allows you to minimise and totally eliminate those errors That's why it's important to do this!

Check your Print Options

Finally one other good idea is to check your print options. You should consider all your printing options, how many prints you want to produce and made a decision how much of your profit you want to put towards production. Doing this is a good practise as it will eliminate you over printing and wasting valuable resources.

You left out one big reason. SPELLING!

Add is in reference to addition, such as one plus one equal 2.

Ad is an abreviated form of advertisement.

"5 Reasons Why Your Printer Add's Didn't Look Good" does not make sense.
