Organizing Clutter - 5 Steps to Clutter Free Living

You are steps away from living with less clutter...The untold secrets to having your home organized, finally organizing clutter and freeing yourself in 5 simple steps. By uncovering these five steps you will be on your way to eliminating clutter.

You must understand that we all have relationships with our stuff and the truth is the more we hold on to for whatever reason, might need it, still looking new, was a gift from such and such this can become a very destructive habit that turns into clutter hoarding.

In order to win the battle you must be on the lookout and following are five steps that will have you do just that, good luck and may the best person win (you or your stuff?):

Step 1: To Clear Clutter you Must Question Yourself?

Prior to tackling any project to clear clutter question yourself to what you want out of the room or area you're attempting to have organized. What are you attempting to achieve with this room? What is your main objective to getting organized?

In order to stay motivated and get this task done you will need to dig deep to find out what benefits you want, this will provide the ultimate declutter help. As for example, if you're goal is to clear the paper clutter in your office in order to get organized, you're question might be "what will getting rid of clutter in this space do in the long run for me?"

And you might be surprise to hear something like "I do not want to ever have to pay a late fee again" or "I want to be able to find any document in less than two minutes."

Now that you have your answers go to the next step.

Step 2: Clutter Organization by Creating Piles

The idea behind creating piles is to gather "similar" items together, this is clutter organization. As for example if you were to work with your closet clutter you would create piles by gathering all of your shirts in one pile and all your pants in another pile.

Or let's say you we're working in your home office area with the paper clutter, you would start with your file drawer, or whatever you use to gather all your documents. You would put each piece of paper from "similar" content in individual files. As for example, all the insurance paperwork will go together, all of your income tax information paperwork goes in another and all medical expenses from the present year in another.

Now let's move to step 3.

Step 3: Clutter Control by Evaluating your piles

As you move on to this next step you will be doing clutter control by going through the content and evaluating if this is something that you will "keep" or you "trash", so going through each pile divide them up into two new piles.

It is important that you are decisive that all items need to go into a pile. Clear the clutter by making sure you either place your stuff in the "keep pile" or "the trash pile" there is no "maybe, let's see later" pile here.

Now before we take action on what to do with the stuff, you still need to make decisions about your trash pile, because this stuff might not necessarily be garbage we will cover this in the next step.

Step 4: Declutter Help%u2026Yes Help Others or Yourself by either Donating, Selling or Trashing

Now it is time to sort out what to do with your trash pile, you will again create separate piles for each. First pile is for donations, the second will be for items that can be sold and the last pile is for the dumpster.

And lastly we have arrived to our final destination "Organizatown" okay I made that up, but really this is where you have fun.

Step 5: Clutter Help is here it is Time to organize

So now all that you should be left with are the items you have decided to keep. Remember to always keep "similar" items together whether on a shelf, in drawers or in any other type of storage you're using.

One good clutter help tip is keep your items that you use more often easily accessible and within reach, this will avoid dragging everything out to get to those items.

There you go, use these 5 steps for any clutter organization project that you have to tackle.

Have you tried any of these strategies?

We would love to hear about it...
