Wondering What to Give the Persons With Everything? Give Them a Way to Pay It Forward

How many gifts have you gotten have you really wanted, needed or used? How many have you 're-gifted'? How many just sit in a closet to be carted to Good Will when your organizer gets after you?

Sometimes there is the initial glow of having received something, but that ofter doesn't last long. Sometimes the gift was obvious so thoughtless that it feels bad to say "thanks".

I have lots of well meant but useless things hanging around , and I think about what better use there is for the money.

Well, here are some ideas for giving a gift that really pays and will really be used!

    I just recently discovered Kiva...I think next year I'm going to do charity gifting...and make a transition from a commercialized Christmas. Ok, gotta run...maybe Tipi is awake... ;o) xo

    I hate receiving gifts that I don't want, that good hard-earned cash has been spent on that could have benefited someone who needs it more. I think charities may have a tough year this year too given the current financial situation across the world, unless people give to charity rather than unwanted presents.

    The is the best time of year to think about what other people need that are less fortunate. It is a wonderful idea to give to charity.

    What a beautiful thing to remember at this time of the year, and any time of the year. I have been thinking about giving in this way quite a bit this year, or telling others to give to us in this way. Thank you for including my Natural Disaster Relief lens, have a blessed Thanksgiving!

    This is an excellent lens. In my family, when we all got old enough to have jobs and families, we decided to stop giving gifts to the adults and just focus on the kids. Instead, the adults all contributed the money we WOULD have spent on gifts for each other and donated it to a charity. We rotated who selected the charity, so it changed every year. We stopped doing it as a family when life got financially difficult for some of us, but hopefully we'll reinstate it soon.
