Five Easy steps to remove oil from carpet

Have you ever split oil on your carpet before. Maybe had a salad and the whole thing just dumped all over the floor.. Maybe you were carrying in the groceries and the oil broke open. Either way do not worry anymore, I will give you a simple five step process to get remove oil from your carpet for good. This will work if that stain has been there for a year or a minute but treating any stain right away will always be the best.

Step 1

using a sponge or a towel try to remove as much of this oil as possible by firmly pressing on the spot.

Step 2

Generously sprinkle an absorbent material over the stain (ex. Baking soda, cat litter, cornstarch, or anything that can absorb oil.) Let that sit for about 10 minutes and then vacuum it up.

Step 3

make a 1:20 solution of laundry soap to water and sponge this onto the stain.

Step 4

Continue sponging this solution until the mixture is absorbed.

Step 5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the stain disappears or no longer can be absorbed into a cloth.
