#1 Rich Dad Poor Dad
Written by Robert Kiyosaki
Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not!The first time I read this book is in 2006 when I was 16 years old. I've re-read it at least 3 to 4 times. Each time after I finished reading it, I found myself learning something new.
This book is written from real life experiences about entrepreneurship. Written by someone who have gone through the tough road and the narrow way to success of the real world. Instead of telling you how smart he is in business. Robert believe that you will learn more from his failure, how many holes he had dug, how many times he had to get up after falling down again and again.
In this book you certainly will NOT find a hot-tip on which stock is going to hit the next wave and sky-rocket. If you are just looking to "Get-Rich-Quick" or simply searching for 1 or 2 hot-tip, then this book is definitely not for you. Please save up your money for better use.
There's an old saying "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him forever" This book is about educating and teaching you how to fish. If you believe in life long learning and are also interested to upgrade and improve yourself than this book is certainly a Must-Have.
Short summary on Rich Dad Poor Dad:
Robert believe he is very fortunate to have 2 dads offering him the choice of contrasting points of view: One of a rich man and one of a poor man.
His poor dad, although highly intelligent and educated, was poor at the end of his working day. His rich dad on the other hand dropped out of school, failed many times, but at the end of his working day, he is considered to be one of the richest man in the state of Hawaii.
Poor dad advised Robert to go to school, get a PhD and work hard for the government for the rest of his life; Rich dad advised Robert to learn how to build assets from different asset classes, instead of working hard for money, he suggested Robert to have money work hard for him. One would say, "The love of money is the root to all evil", the other said "The lack of money is the root to all evil."
The author Robert Kiyosaki has written in such a way that even a 16 years old could fully understand (English is not my first language). This is the first book which I have completed reading to the last page. I am giving so much credit to this book because I really gain a lot of valuable insight and knowledge which I still continue to apply today. If not because of Rich Dad Poor Dad, I guess I wouldn't be writing this lens now.
#2 Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
Written by T. Harv Eker
It's pretty obvious, if you thought about buying this book then I supposed you want to become a millionaire someday.
This is another life-changing book. The reason why I've listed Secrets of the Millionaire Mind as number 2 is because this is not only an educating book but also very inspiring, motivating and funny. Yes you heard me right, funny!
I truly enjoy the part where he showed several examples on those who always tell others: "Oh, Money is not that important". Beyond humour these books also uses a lot of assertion between the rich and the poor, some of my favourite assertions are:
1) Poor people think small while Rich people think big
2) Poor people want to be rich while Rich people are committed to being rich
3) Poor people play not to lose while rich People play only to win.
4) Poor people think they already know all the answers while rich people remain humble and are willing to learn and grow constantly.
Again instead of just telling you "How-to" do it or simply offer you a hot-tip - this book actually writes about real life experience combined with realistic real life scenarios. Writing in such a way, I believe that all those who read this book will gain an insight on how to become extremely rich - far richer than they can possibly imagination.
Note: Losers and lazy people will not appreciate the content within
#3 Multiple Streams of Income
Written by Robert Allen
Down the list, this is the third book which I think I have gained the most. I bought this book because all I wanted was just an additional income stream but thankfully this book gave me more than just 1 stream of income. It gave me many different choices, open up my mind to a whole new possibilities. And not only that, the technique and method explained within this book is also very realistic and achievable.
Personally, I like the section where he explained about Network-Marketing, he list down a number of strategies on how to succeed with this basic marketing plan, a strategy I believe many of us could do without much difficulties.
However, I thought that the Stock-investment section to be a little woeful especially when he mentioned about buying-calls. He make it sound so easy as if every Tom, Dick and Harry could do it, he sounded just like my local salesman trying to get me into buying their stock, mutual funds, savings etc.
Buying-calls or buying any kind of paper assets requires a deep amount of knowledge. You'd either make a killing or the one being killed when buying paper assets. If people on the inside are making the killing, I hope that you, who are on the outside stay away so that you don't get slaughtered. Don't go into buying-calls unless you know what you are doing.
Other than buying-calls, every other methods he mentioned are quite safe. I also like the tax-lien section - You should definitely read it. This section alone I guess is worth far more than the cost of this book.

#4 The Richest Man in Babylon
Written by George S. Classon
I considered this book an all time classic. When I first read The Richest Man in Babylon I find it really hard to understand especially when the author uses word like "Thou" & "Thee". After reading it several times I finally able to catch a glimpse on what this book is all about.
This book deals with the personal success of each of us. Success means accomplishments as the result of our own effort and abilities.
During those days, Babylon was the wealthiest city because its citizens were the richest people of their time. They appreciated the value of money. They practised sound financial principles in acquiring money, keeping money and making their money earn more money.
Although this book is only less than 150 pages. The theory is powerful and it is packed with lots of valuable information. If you thought of buying this book then my advise for you is: "Read it till the end and do as it say". If you can do that, miracles and magic will happen.
Look at all these amazing reviews received by actual customers in Amazon - You can click on the button above to go directly to Amazon. A must-have book if you are dead serious on becoming rich.
#5 Think and Grow Rich
Written by Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow RichThink and Grow Rich was first published in the 30s, nonetheless, this book is still surfacing above shoulder than most of the other business books out there.
I think I would appreciate this book more if I am living in the 50s. Why? Because Napoleon mentioned and interviewed lots of the old-school big timer, people like Henry Ford, Thomas Edison. John D. Rockefeller and several more others. I would certainly appreciate this book more if he'd mentioned people like Steve Job, Donald Trump, Richard Branson etc..
Think and Grow Rich contain a 6 step success formula which I believe will help a lot of people. This formula has helped me to think bigger and further than those who carries prestigious paper certificate that are considered to be more intelligence and smarter in today's context.
There's a poem in this book which I enjoyed a lot, it's called "My wages" - "I bargained with Life for a penny..." I believe that the author has the same message the bible has for us.
Finally, this book is titled "THINK and grow rich" and not "DO and grow rich". There's really not much people out there who likes to think, thinking is hard work and most of us simply ignore it. We'd rather work hard than think hard. However, the secrets to becoming rich is THINK and grow rich, in another word - work SMART, not just working hard.
