5 Tips for Hiding Valuables In Your Home
It is convenient to hide your valuables in home. However, such hiding places should be protected and disguised properly. Identifying and selecting secret places depend on type and volume of valuables to be hidden. Here are few simple ideas on how and where you may store them.1. Walls of rooms are suitable for hiding valuables, i.e. use a hidden wall safe. While some walls may have hollow space behind them, in most cases you need to curve out space. Identify convenient places that can be reached easily. Such spaces are ideal for hidden wall safe. Make sure to mask the wall so that position of wall safe is hard to trace. A fireproof wall safe is best choice to ensure that your valuables remain safe even if there is an accidental breakout of fire.
2. Beams in ceiling and wall are integral part of a house or apartment. Curve out hollow space in one such beam. Ensure that such beam is not supporting the construction of the house. Craft an opening at convenient place so that you can use it. Make sure to cover up the opening properly so that it is not easily visible. Such places offer a lot of space for your hiding valuables.
3. Panels and baseboards offer chances to stash your valuables. Try to create space behind panels or in the baseboards that can be concealed easily. Such places need to be masked properly as they are easily accessible. As you put back cover, hiding place should gel with the overall texture or pattern of baseboard or panel.
4. To hide valuables at home, furniture is traditional and popular choice. Such furniture may be a big one like bookcase or small one like tea table. The idea is to make hollow space in such selected furniture for hiding valuables. To make it effective, make sure that after hiding, the hollow space is not easily traceable. Adjustable shelves that may be removed and hollow books with similar binding are useful to store valuables.
5. Pots holding your houseplants may be designed in such way that there are small compartments to stash valuables. A false light switch or space behind mirror is also useful for hiding valuables.
