Have you experienced being down lately?

We all go through problems and pressure in life. It may be because of work, family, or with daily decision making in life and with all these stress and pressures we are in, some would really go into depression. But life does not have to be loaded as we think it is, we can actually fight the battle of being stressed from all those pressure that we are in and not go into depression.
We might be thinking because of this fast world, we also have to be treated faster, but the sure way to be depression is the slow and natural way. read more here.

So, what is Depression, really?

Depression is actually a serious condition. Although everyone will and can experience depression, at some certain point, it can become serious once it has affected once own life and once it will last for months (for more than 6 months usually).

It is a states of one's mood where on feels very very low and can affect one own way of thinking, behaving and attitude and personality. It is actually serious because one cannot think clearly anymore and it does affect one's work and family relationship.

It is condition in which one would feel really down and feel sober. One would even go to depression right after delivery and at times depression is present in teenagers and even in aged adults.

Depressed people feel at times anxious, sad, empty, hopeless, worthless and helpless. One would some times not eat and keep themselves locked up in the room.

Everyone at some point in our life have and had experience this, it is a matter of coping it that we are in the state that we are right now. But I am sure it was also not that easy to take and handle. I have my own taste of depression also and sometimes, it really did get me to the point of giving up, but hey, I am totally okay now. We can all fight this with a little help. I am not giving anything that is tested thought but just a point of view and from my own experience.

Depression is nothing to be worried about but something to look forward to as just a challenge in one's life.
Take every single day lightly and have patience with yourself....

1. Identify and Accept

This would usually be my first step to healing. I have to identify that I am in depression and when I do so, I can process the step of accepting the condition. It may take a while especially if you are in the denial stage. But once you know and accept that fact, it will then be easier.

Accept also that there are things that are out of our control and some things out of plan, that way, we can accept life's imperfections positively and move on in the future faster.

Accept that life is made up of learning through mistakes and sometimes mistakes comes with hurt, and we know that it is never that easy. But learning from them can make life a little lighter.

2. Pray

This may seem very common and perennial but this actually works. Have faith that you will be healed. Have faith and trust that in time, it will all fade away. Be patient to wait because what we ask for from Him, we also ave to earn. that's why faith is needed. Do your stuff and leave the rest to Him.

For some, they do not believe in prayers, I am not forcing you to believe either but why not try, there is totally no harm in trying. In the end, it is Him that we will all go to.

I recommend reading Bo Sanchez writings and advises. He can really help you go back to the Higher good. The author has good insights about how to perceive Him. Although, there are a lot out there who can help you spritually.

These books are of great help too, try it:
Purpose Driven Life
If life is a game, these are the rules

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.

Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks.

He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life.

3. Learn to Laugh

In other terms, have a great sense of humor and learn to laugh at things. Remember you are not alone with that kind of experience and you will never be alone in dealing with it.

It is a matter of laughing at things that you will learn to see things differently and take things lightly. There is something in humor that one will learn to see things in a very different way and in a way that makes life a bit easier and soon, much more simpler.

Learn to laugh like a child, try it and you will see.

“The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being.”

4. Chat and Get Busy

Yes, after all those crying and heartache and sulking it all in, why not try to talk it all out. They could be anyone, a sister, brother, Mom, Dad, a friend, a close friend, your husband, your wife, etc... It actually lessens the pain and burden when those are blurted out. Its like the problem has been shared by two when you let it all out. Go out and socialize more

A lot have proven that talking it all out could actually help. Try it, nothing to lose anyway, just problems and a lot of saliva. :)

Take your time to be out and get busy with them or might as well get busy with some worthy things to do like donating, visiting orphanages, visiting the hospital, or visiting the jail. Sounds insane right, okay let's put it simply as get yourself busy with anything to get busy with. You will find that life actually is not that as it seems and that life if still blessed. Do it, it can make you more fulfilled in life.

5. Seek professional help

You think I would not mention this, hey after all those that I have mentioned and still you are down, then maybe you need an professional help already. It is matter of taking first those steps before you decide that a professional help is needed because it is worse than expected.

If depression is one severe serious case condition already, a professional advise is totally needed here already.

Setting some personal goals and staying focused and motivated by your passions is a good way to get busy and feel like you have an actual purpose and reason to live. Balancing that with good friends and a good diet definitely helped me. I love this lens by the way!
