50 Things to Add to Squidzipper Lenses

Ideas to Personalize a Squidzipper Lens

The key to a great squidzipper lens is personalization. Squidzipper already has an automated lens made on each zip code. So, what else is there to say? A LOT! The automated lens only shows the almanac version of your town. It doesn't show the people or the places like a lensmaster can.

These are a few ideas of things you could include in your squidzipper lens. Use a few or many, or dive into a topic to make a highly specialized guide to the zip code.

Squidzipper With A Specific Focus

Local Niche

When making your squidzipper lens, keep in mind that there can be more than one lens for each zip code - an infinite number in fact. So, if the zip code already has a lens, don't be scared away. Your lens will surely be different.

Some zip codes have just so much there that one lens could never cover it all. Consider making a lens on a specific aspect of the community in that zip code.

I couldn't remember how to add Squidzippers to the Discovery feature -- any ideas on how to do that?
  • kab Jul 21, 2011 @ 8:37 am | delete
Yes, if the URL of the lens were: http://www.squidoo.com/05733/BrandonVT
    you would enter 05733..BrandonVT

I'm running into some dead links related to squidzipper. Is this co-brand still available? Or is there only one squidzipper per zip code, and they're all taken? Thanks for your work, Kab! Look forward to when you can update it!
  • kab Jul 18, 2011 @ 8:43 am | delete
Hmm. I see what you mean. Squidzippers still look like squidzippers though. Other co-brands which were removed had their lenses go back to the default template. I'll see what I can find out.
