Music and Songs 50/50 Movie Starring Seth Rogen & Joseph Gordon-Levitt
On the movie's trailer, Cut Copy's "Where I'm Going" from the album Zonoscope was chosen as the music cue for Joseph Gordon Levitt shaving his head with a horrified Seth Rogen looking on. The other song on the 50/50 movie trailer is "Carries On" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes .
Cars 2 & Super 8 composer Michael Giacchino was tasked with the difficulty of coming up with music for a cancer comedy soundtrack score.
50/50 was filmed in Hollywood North, my hometown of Vancouver, Canada which is actually the ideal location for shooting a movie with this theme. For the most part, the weather's overcast and dreary like London but occasionally when the sun comes out, it's absolutely beautiful.
In some ways, the contrast in weather gives Vancouverites a mini reason to celebrate and appreciate life when the weather's nice in Lotusland much like Rogen's somewhat optimistic spin on his friend's fate as he muses "What are your chances? 50/50. Not that bad. If you were a casino game, you'd have the best odds".
Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in 50/50 which was released nationwide on September 30, 2011.

This was really Joseph Gordon-Levitt's actual hair that was being shaved off. There was no skull cap or fake hair to do re-shoots. So that is really Seth Rogen's honest to goodness raw cringe-worthy reaction.
In various interviews, Joe admits a kind of raw fearlessness in his approach in being totally committed to the craft of acting and his character that he didn't really dwell upon what he'd done until after the fact.
