Since you are sending them on a cruise, have their stateroom decorated with gold (the traditional colour & symbol at 50yrs) with balloons, a basket with champagne & goodies.

You can also try to include the scrapbook in the basket. Make a video or picture album to give them before they leave with everyone wishing them well on the cruise.

Most cruises have a special formal, have something gold for them to wear (a tie or a nice blouse) and when they wear it, let the cruiseline know & they will ensure to have something special for them at dinner too.

After being on 2 cruises, I enjoy the little perks they give you. (talk to the cruise line about those too.)
