1955 Chevy Trucks were produced in two productions. First and Second Series.

Welcome 1955 Chevrolet truck fans!!!

Here you'll find some of the best sources of truck stuff on the net.

Pictured above is my second series 1955 Chevy truck and I feel that they got it right the second time around.

In my world there are only two women. My wife and my truck. Both have their own way of seducing me through life. But as this missive is about the truck, let me start with the color, 1997 Ford Red Toreador. A modern equivalent of candy apple red, the color is the only one befitting a 1955 Chevrolet 3100 custom. It turns heads on the street almost as fast a curvy, redhead shakin' it in a bikini. Under the hood I have made sure that ample power is available to smoke an import vehicle, through custom installation of a small-block 350 producing enough torque to wear the tires out and take your breath away.

This relationship is pure love. You don't pour your time, energy, creative spirit, and green into just any woman, she has to be the "One" and I have not met a man (or in some cases, woman) on the planet who did not have a detailed description of the "one" that he or she would want in their life. The "One" is a soul-mate, a perfect match, almost certainly sent down from heaven above to deliver unbridled pleasure to you when you get behind the wheel.

The best rides are solo. Just me and her. I get in, buckle up, roll down the windows, put on my shades, and start her up. My hands grip her wheel and I sink with pleasure back into the seat as her power plant revs and she torques me into driving position.

A quick release of her clutch and BAM, she screams in pleasure as we rip off a burn out to get her tires warmed up. The smell of rubber fills the air as we get up to speed and a smile stretches across my face as people near the street look at us with envy. They are looking at her.

The radio sets the pace now as we round the bend and head out toward the interstate. I get physical with her once again as we gain speed up the ramp. I am gripping her stick shift and jammin' it to her making her scream once again. She dives with pleasure into the fast lane passing the slower cars drifting without purpose in the right lane. She and I are cruising alone together in the fast lane.

This is a peaceful place where we can be together and share our thoughts without speaking a word.

As the sunset fills the back window of my 55 Chevy, I wink her lights at you as you pass me going west, and I think to myself there goes another "One".

Oh Yeah, Sorry forgot about telling you about the 2nd series trucks. The lines are bolder, stronger, and massive. The 1955 second series trucks are unmistakeable. The heavy, bull-nosed, eyebrowed front end was the improved version that led to the development of the "Task Force" pickups of the late 50's.

Thanks to overseas production facilities and high demand for the old stuff, reproduction parts are now made and are quite plentiful. Most "Junk Yards" crushed their remaining inventory years ago, although their are some sources in isolated areas all over the United States.

Whether your preference is Fiberglass or Metal, parts are out there to put your project back together. I completely replaced large portions of my Old Red Truck using only metal parts.

A 1973 Chevy Nova rearend and small block 350 motor ensure the truck gets out of the hole and lives up to it's work horse mentality.
