What is a 5 Pillar company?

I was looking for a business, so that I could be a stay-at-home mom and be with my daughter. I did not know much about MLM / Network Marketing, other then alot of them out there are Scams! So i always do my research and was told i should look for a 5 Pillar Company.

So what is a 5 Pillar company? - This is what I found out.


Pillar #1 - Company management with experience and integrity

Do your homework, research the company. Do a Google search of the company name then type 'scam' or 'fraud' and see what comes up. The CEO(s) or owner(s) of the company should have experience in the field. Read the biography of the people running the company. Have any of these people been successful in MLM or network marketing? ....If the people running the company don't have any training or experience in MLM or network marketing, how will they teach you to run the business and build your team?

How do you know a company has integrity?

Read the companies Policies & Procedures.

- If the policies are more than 5 pages long, this could be a red flag.

- Does the P&P have a yearly renewal clause.

- Does the Company charge you for training or a Company Website?

Red Flag words to look for - Terminate, Ongoing, Recruiting, and Retail Sales.

Pillar #2 - Timing, In The Industry and The Company

Watch out for start-up companies and companies younger than 2 years old. Approx. 99% of new companies fail within that period. Wait and see if the company is going to survive...by then all the problems should be fixed/worked out.

Pillar #3 - The Product

Most companies have remarkable products. Ask yourself this question... "Would I buy this product if there was no business opportunity attached?" If not, then you may want to re-think your decision. The product should be high quality and in high demand.

Are the Products Affordable? ....You should be able to sell your products at retail. If you are only able to sell your products by giving your customer your discount, then this is a red flag.

Pillar #4 - The Compensation Plan

95% of networkers are part-time people. So it makes sence, to have a pay plan that pays even the part-timer. A good compensation plan is one that pays the most with the least amount of people in your downline.

Pillar #5 - A Proven Duplicatable System

You must have a proven duplicatable system for success. People are not duplicatable, but systems are. If your sponsor is telling you to recruit and buy leads...RUN! Buying leads is a Scam! Build people, by sharing knowledge and teaching them skills. Network marketing is about trust and building relationships. People join people, they don't join companies! If they do, they usually won't stay long.

Before you get involved with a MLM or network marketing company, do your homework, Look for these 5 Pillars. Each pillar is very important, if you plan on being successful in this industry.
