Great books I have discovered along the way
The 5 Books
- 1984 - George Orwell
Yes, it may be one of those 'classics' we all read, but it realy did have an impact on me. The ideas presented are just as relevent, if not more, in our society today, as the distinctions between truth and 'manufactured truth' continue to blur. Big Brother is watching! - Wealth of Nations - Adam Smith
Not exactly your 'summer beach read', but valuable nonetheless. It may be a bit wordy for today's reader, who prefers something more concise, but as a base for understanding economics, it can't be beat! - John Adams - David McCullough
Well-written biography of one of the greatest leaders of our time. Part of what led me to read this was curiosity as to why such a long book was a bestseller - I wasn't disappointed! - The World is Flat - Thomas Friedman
Perhaps not a classic, or even the best take on globalization, but ths book certainly contains many eye-opening observations and motivating thoughts on the future it couldn't be left off the list! (And it happens to be the latest book I have read) - First 2000 Years - W. Cleon Skousen
An interesting perspective on the first 2000 years of written history - a summary of not only the Bible, but other scripture and writings to give a more complete history of what may have taken place.
