6 Simple Ways to Fight Aging
Ranked #3,583 in Healthy Living, #68,696 overall
It's Never to Late to Fight the Effects of Aging
It is never too late, or early for that matter, to begin these simple anti-aging techniques. Of course, the sooner you start, and the more you do them, the more they will enhance your youthful appearance.
These 6 simple anti-aging techniques will help you fight those signs of aging if you make them a regular part of our routine. And why not! Each of these 6 techniques can easily be done every day right at home, don't take a lot of time and are most fun to do.
Unfortunately there is No Fountain of Youth, but you can give yourself the best chance you possibly can at anti-aging with these 6 simple tricks.
What You Will Find Here
#1 Exercise to fight the effects of Aging
Our bodies are bombarded with pollutants every day: environmentally, chemically, and internally. These pollutants can lead to cellular damage as they create a toxic environment inside of us.
Exercise is one simple step you can take to help fight the effects of aging. Exercise helps you lose weight, increase endorphin production (the feel good hormone), improve mental clarity and focus (more oxygen to the brain), boosts immunity, and strengthens muscle and bone.
Exercise improves your skins appearance. Several reasons why exercise helps improve your skin's appearance; Sweat helps to purge the body of impurities, as well as increases your heart and respiratory health. A healthy heart and lungs improves your overall health, as well. And a healthy body naturally has a healthier appearance.
Taking oxygen deep into your lungs during exercise gets the blood moving and increases circulation. This increased circulation happens throughout your entire body, including your skin and the tissues that support your skin. This increased circulation helps rejuvenate the skin cells and keep them renewing at a more rapid pace than if you just sit like a lump all day.
Why not make it your mission to walk for thirty minutes each and every day. This simple routine will put the sparkle back in your eyes, a bounce back in your step, and the rosy color back in your cheeks; all which make you look like a much younger version of yourself.
#2 This Anti Aging Technique is Simple- Water, Water, Water
The body is made up mostly of water. When your body doesn't have enough water, your skin will let you know. How? Almost immediately your skin will feel tight. If you were to pinch your skin and it does not snap back immediately when you let go, you are lacking water! Over time our bodies naturally start to lose elasticity. Lack of moisture leaves skin feeling dry and less 'plump.' That's when you will start to notice fine lines and wrinkles.
If your skin is dry, your entire body is dry. That means your organs, including your brain, are not getting the water they need to function properly. Start each day with a glass of water. Have a bottle or glass of water at your side all day. It's a fact that if you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated, so the object is to never get thirsty. Each time you drink a glass of water, refill it. Keep water handy all day long and your skin and body will thank you.
Fully hydrating your body from the inside-out makes sense. When your skin and supporting tissues have enough moisture, you start off with a better base for all those lotions and creams. If you slather on the moisturizer, but your body is dehydrated, you are fighting a losing game. With your body fully hydrated, your skin will look fresher, more resilient, and more radiant. You'll see as time goes by that wrinkles are less noticeable and your skin feels like it has more spring to it.
# 3 Mediation to Help Fight the Effects of Aging
No Meditation is not nerdy or new age! Taking time out for yourself everyday to find a little inner peace and relax the body is no longer frowned upon by the masses as being "out there" or "too new age". It is okay to Meditate!
We all know that free radicals are responsible for the signs of aging as well as many diseases and ailments. Regular meditation and relaxation can reduce free radicals damage to your body by reducing stress. You don't need to take a class or know yoga, or any other complex meditation secret. Just sit quietly, without distraction, (no music or TV, no phones or computers) and focus on something pleasing and calm. Breathe deep, and relax. Also, don't go over your daily to-do list.
Now is the time to let all the stress of the day out of your body. Give yourself 5, 10, or 15 minutes; whatever it takes to feel the calm wash over you, and wash the stress away.

#4 Daily Skin Care - To Fight the Effects of Aging
For a more youthful look
If you want to fight the effects of aging on your skin, you should follow a simple skin care routine each morning and evening.
Cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin every day. It really is that simple. Use a moisturizer with a sunscreen in the morning to protect your skin from the sun's harmful uv-rays. In the summer time if the sun is really bright or you are sweating a lot you may need to re-apply the sunscreen during the day.
Extreme cold weather can rob your skin of moisture so you will want to use a lotion that protects your skin and adds additional moisturizing properties.
At night wash your skin again and add an enriching lotion to seal in your skin's moisture. In other words, treat your skin well and it will reward you with a soft, supple appearance.
#5 Eating Properly to Reverse Signs of Aging

When choosing foods, choose antioxidant-rich foods, lean meats, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables, these will provide everything you need to maintain healthy skin, bones, and organs.
Eliminate from your diet any over-processed foods that contain a lot of artificial ingredients,(if you can't say the name, you don't need it in your diet) refined sugars, and processed flours. The closer you stay to whole, natural foods, the better your skin will look and feel.
If your body has to work to hard to just get rid of toxins you've just eaten, it won't be able to do the job of getting proper nutrients to your vital organs, including your skin and its supporting tissues.

Beets. Pumpkin Seeds. Mangoes.
What do these foods have in common? They are some of the very best foods for fighting aging and keeping your skin beautiful.
How? The nutrients in these foods from vitamins A, B, and C to the minerals iron and zinc act as powerful antioxidants, neutralizing the free radicals that form in your skin due to sun exposure, environmental toxins, and a poor diet. The entire body needs these antioxidants in order to work properly and give us the glowing, healthy appearance we crave.
# 6 Laughter to Help Fight The Signs of Aging
They say laughter is the best medicine, and I have to agree, especially when it comes to fighting the effects of aging.
One of the best things any of us can to do improve our mood is have a good laugh. When you laugh you are using your face muscles in an uplifting way, instead of frowning or scowling, which pulls the muscles of the face downward (not good). A good laugh several times a day will get your face muscles used to smiling, which will improve your looks, thus help to fight the effects of aging.
There is also some evidence that shows even faking a smile will get your endorphins pumped up and producing those happy feelings. Take a few minutes to read the funny pages in the newspaper, watch a funny clip on Youtube, or read a funny story. Or just think about a family member or friend that cracks you up. Smile lines make you look much younger than frown lines do.

- Great points! Like +1 from me!
I am not old, yet, but those principals apply as well to productivity. If one does all of these 6 ways, it would be more productive at work and have more time for life.

- I just wrote a blog entry about my 52nd birthday (I took about a ten mile bike ride) and talked about how I don't FEEL 52. I practice pretty much all the methods above - so maybe that's why! Great lens for overall good health, never mind aging.

- Hi Momsbusy. Great tips. And if you want to really spoil yourself while you are at it, have a look at the great skincare products in my shop: http://www.funflowershop.nl
I use them myself and it has taken years off my face (along with losing some weight of course). I particularly love the face mask and both the firming cream and the night cream. The cleanser is a soap free one. Every friday evening is my "anti ageing time". I vist the sauna, exfoliate, have a mask and then moisturize. If you want to try these products out, when you get to checkout please fill in "New Year" for a 25 % discount

- Nice bit of advice. Aging happens to everyone, and IMO, it is important to age gracefully and not fight it consciously. Healthy food, healthy mind, is peace of mind. :)
