No mini-bus needed for this fashion trip to the past:
No psychedelic painted VW mini bus is required for this trip.
The reality of the situation is this: the clothing featured below was actually available for purchase at various online stores and web-sites.
Peace.

Flowered Mini Mod Dress:
Yep! Flowes and Mini a definite 1960s style!
Perfect for layering over bell bottom jeans. In the 60's I used to sew a lot of my own clothing. This style was such an easy one to make. The trick was finding really good looking fabric that was affordable. Back then I used to drool over the cloth from Europe, but I could not afford it.
Sock-It-To-Me Romper:
Laugh In was a hit TV show from the late sixties
I am certain Judy Carne might have worn a romper like this one on the iconic 60's TV show, Laugh-In. Goldie Hawn surely had a dress just like this, too.I had a dress Simplicity sewing pattern for this style. I made two outfits. I loved the look of a dress yet it was like wearing shorts. I could dance all night and not worry about anyone seeing my undies when I hopped on my boyfriend's motorcycle.
Sock It To Me
a phrase made popular by Laugh-In in the late 60's
Rowan & Martin's Laugh-in: the Sock-it-to-me Collection: Here Comes the Judge
Amazon Price: $29.39 (as of 02/17/2012)![]()
Iconic TV show that influenced so much in the popular culture of the 1960's.
Halter Ring Dress:
Orange-- a signature color of the 1960s
A Signature Mod Color--Orange. Here it is combined with white, yellow and black so you can diversify your accessories. Picture this halter dress with white patten gogo boots. Today we would probably wear white or black cropped leggins with gladiator sandals in a gold tone to match the ring.No jewelry on the neck required. Just hoop earrings to complete the look.
Goldie in a 60's Halter Dress
Laugh-In TV classic from the 1960's
Mod Velvet Jumper:
Can you remember this fabric from the '60s?
Kaleidoscopic, eye-popping mod brights. I would have worn this with a black turtleneck and black tights in the 60's.The jumper I made that was like this one had a black background. It looked great with my black turtleneck. Too bad I did not have enough babysitting jobs to pay for some black boots.
All Purpose Retro:
A 1960s A-Line dress-up
Wear to the football game on Saturday and then to church on Sunday.100% polyester--perfect!
This dress was a college girl's dream dress. You could wash it out in the sink and hang it up to dry. Ready to wear in less than 24 hours. No ironing required.
Summers of Love (Late 60s):
Remember the Kaftan?
Were they really summers of love?Well, we babyboomers like to remember it that way. I remember the awkward moments when some dude tried to "hit on" me using the line "Love the one you're with" line from a song by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Sometimes it was hard not to laugh out loud.
Chiffon Paisley Hostess Gown:
1960s style good today!
I would still like to hostess in a dress like this one. Wish I still wore the same size I did in the 60's! LOLSeriously, the long dress shown here would be perfect with today's fashions.
Flower Power!
This kind of print became an icon of the 1960s
I am sure my best friend had a VW with flowers just like this. They were either on the trunk hood (in the front) or on the back left bumper.I believe that this cute thing is a romper.
Neon-hued Kaftan:
Neon colors - another icon of Sixties Fashion
Pale Pink lipstick, Roman sandals, and bouffant updo are NOT optional. This type of flowing dress was a popular style in the movies of the late 60's. I am sure that Doris Day wore one when entertaining by the pool of her ranch-style home. I think that I remember one of the "Bond-Girls" running from - or was it towards? - 007. I guess the martini was stirred and not shaken if she was running from James Bond.

Return to the Sixties?
Remembering when....
Don't forget to sign my guestbook further down the page! Thanks in advance, too, for remembering to give me a thumbs up.
Would you travel back to the sixties if you could?

I would love to go back to the sixties, but only if I can eventually return to the present.

No way, bro.
Choose Your Mode of Travel on this Retro Journey:
I owned an MG100 but could not find a picture of it on Flickr. Several of my friends had a VW bus, but we won't go there! (Too many beautiful people can fit in one of those things!) By far the most economical car was the plain VW Beetle. I always wanted a Corvette, though, so that would be my choice for this trip back to the 60's.
1960's Television Influenced Fashion Trends
Hmm. So do today's TV shows.
No "potty mouth" or too much cleavage on these shows. Sure the female movie stars all displayed their bosoms in the movie magazines, but on TV that was not allowed. Well, maybe the vixen who wanted to break up Samantha and Darren's marriage on Bewitched showed some decollete, but remember, she was a home-wrecker.
