For all of us turning 60 in the next few years, congratulations! Celebrate life in all it's fullness!

What is it like to reach 60?

Reaching age 60 is not just a major milestone. It is actually a collection of actions, a scrapbook of days, and a mind full of memories. As a society of this baby boomer generation, we all went through the carefree and innocent 1950's. Plunging headlong in the rebellious 60's, then disco dancing our way into the 70's followed by the big hair and lapel days of the 80's. It doesn't end there - even though it doesn't feel like very long ago - as we watched the growth of computers and dog paddle to keep our head above water in the 21st century.

Our personal memories take center stage as we travel back in time to relive the many years of our own experiences. We don't feel old mentally - we are still the same person going through those decades. But somehow, the wrinkles have undeniably crept in, the aches and pains of our body accompany us in our days, and the "old" jokes seem real.

Whew that's a lot of living! That's a lot of celebrating to do as well! Read on to find out great ways to help someone turn that "Sweet 60", find out why "60 is Nifty" and "Sexy Sixty" is still kickin'!

60th Birthday PARTY IDEAS!

MUSIC OF THE 60's!

Party Ideas: For starters, center everything around the number 60.

(You can comfortably go from 50's to 70's in the music.

Snacks - 60 M 'n M's in their favorite team colors or high school or college colors.

Birthday Gifts

Here are some good options for gifts:

Using the number 60 - buy a gift card to favorite store, coffee shop, or electronics store in the amount of $60.00

For the movie goer, consider a gift basket filled with "older women"-themed movies. Titles like "Prime," "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and "The Graduate" are some interesting choices to consider. For the gag part - include 60 bags of microwave popcorn or 60 jelly beans!

A memory book that tells the story of someone's life is appropriate for a person turning 60. Gathering photos, memorabilia and memories from friends and family members will help you create an accurate and meaningful memory book. It can include short notes from important people throughout the guest of honor's life, such as a spouse, children and close friends.
You can ask everyone to bring a copy of a favorite photo and include them in the memory book.

Schedule 30 - 60 Cards over 30 Days!

Get together with a whole group for this one! Really Simple!

Your birthday recipient will receive 1 - 2 cards daily for the month leading up to their birthday!

It is so easy!! Here is how you do it.

Talk with the group leader of their church, or social organization. How about their hobby group, or co-workers.
Ask for $3.50 from each person. This covers the cards plus the postage.

1) Go to Sandra Rose Designs. This is my website, and I have a built-in Greeting Card Manager.

2) You choose the cards - remember - cards with the number 60 are fine - but choose ones that are funny, or silly, and some
that are serious as well.

3) Personalize the cards. Don't sign people's individual names. But do give clues about their birthday, or who the group may be. Keep the birthday person guessing!

3) Follow the easy directions for scheduling your future dates.

4) Pay through our secure website with Paypal or Credit Card. You can always contact me through the website and I can help you through this process.

5) Sit back and watch the fun begin!

6) Here is a helpful guide with details about the GREETING CARD MANAGER.
