The Bottom Line: Does "7 Minute Muscle" Work?

I've tried "7 Minute Muscle". It works.

Now not all the workouts actually last 7 minutes. Those are just the Level 1 workouts. The intermediate and advanced workouts are timed at 14 and 21 minutes respectively. This is still pretty brief. The author himself says he doesn't even do the 21 minute protocol!

Now I know a lot of people don't believe you can get any decent results with less than 30 minutes of exercise. "It's just not enough work", they might think. Or maybe they have tried one of those ultra-short, one set to failure workouts, and it didn't work for them. First of all, "7 Minute Muscle" is NOT a one set to failure program. It's not even close. It's totally different.

A "7 Minute Muscle" workout is basically all the work you do in a typical 30 to 45 minute session, condensed in 7 to 21 minutes. It's rough.

The bottom line: "7 Minute Muscle" worked for me, and I believe it will work for anybody. If you experience a slowdown or a halt in your progress, you probably just need rest. Stay out of the gym a couple of weeks and let your body recuperate. But get back in there once you've recovered!

Still Skeptical?

For those of you who are still skeptical, I would like to bring up an interesting point.

Let's pretend for a while that training an hour a day, six days a week is optimal. Well, this won't matter if you can't do it. If you don't have the energy, the time or you simply hate it, you won't get very far. You might be able to will yourself to do it for a while, but eventually it will catch up to you. It might take a week, a month or a year, but it's going to happen.

This is called anti-perfectionism. You will get more results out of doing something that works okay and that you enjoy, rather than doing what's optimal. Simply because you will do it.

This is one of the reasons why "7 Minute Muscle" is so effective. The workouts are fun as well as challenging. This is because of the way you track your progress. Beating your previous performance has never been this fun!

I believe and I hope that, say ten years from now, muscle building will look a lot different from today. The "recommended" workout length will gradually decrease, and people will eventually realize they don't need to spend hours in the gym to get great results. They will come to see that, if it's intense enough, it doesn't have to be long.
