72 Ford Mustang Introduction
The Ford Mustang is an automobile manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was initially based on the Ford Falcon, a compact car.Production began in Dearborn, Michigan on 9 March, 1964 and the car was introduced to the public on 17 April, 1964 at the New York World's Fair. It is Ford's oldest nameplate currently in production, although the F-Series has undergone major nameplate changes over the years (most recently to F-150).
It was Ford's most successful launch since the Model A.

Question: Could I get some advice on a 72' ford mustang?
ok well im 17 and i was wondering is a 72' ford mustang a good buy for a first time car. the car is in good condition the engine has been rebuilt and it 98,000 miles for 6k....
also like how much would it be to maintain it as far as a yearly tune up? and like how much would it be to replace damages if i get into an accident?
Answer: for a fisrt car sure depends on how much it is and any body shop can fix it pricing depends on where its damaged also and i never heard of a engine rebuild for 6k? it should be less then 1k and there look nice and yearly mantinece just get th oil changed on time and thats all you should worry about!

Can the following tires be put on a 72 Ford Mustang?
Front: 18.5 rim with Size 245-35-18 Tires
Rear: 18.10 rim with 275-35-18 Tires
Rims are Foose Nitrous one piece....
If these aren't suitable.....any suggestions for rim/tire that would fill this wheel well??
Answer: I used to have a 72 Mustang and 225mm fitted easily on the front and 255mm fitted on the back with 8" rim in both cases I could have fir slightly wider in rear without mods but the front would need flaring on the standard wheel arch. This was some years ago so I cant say in terms of the ultra low profile tyre but in terms of width I think that is about as far as you can go unless you've got a serious amount of inset on your rim or you are prepared to modify your inner wheel arches and watch out the tyres dont catch the struts at the front

I got a 1972 ford mustang it has been with my dad ever since i was born I'm 18 now and he is giving it to me I'm debating whether i should fix it up make it look really nice and run great or fix it all the way up and take it to the drag race tracks. Tell me what you think i should do with the car and why.
I was thinking of making it look and run good then pass it down to my kids. Then again i would love to race it.
Answer: You have to fix it up. That car has sentimental value to you. You can find any car at a lot and race it.
I bet your Dad would really like it if it was brought back to new, I'll bet it would bring back some memories for him.

Answer: For starters they don't make a 302 Cleveland.
All Ford 302 engines are small blocks also known as Windsors. I don't want to discourage you, but it is a lot of work & money to put a rough car back decent shape. A rebuilt 351C will cost over $1500. A rebuilt transmission $500
Body work $$$$ not knowing what can be replaced with after market parts. Interior $$$
You could easily spend $10K to get the car up & running with a decent body.

Ok, so i have a 1972 Mustang, and was wondering the difference between a 302 Windsor and a 351 Windsor is. I'm sure it has a 351 in it at the moment. But i'm doing a lot of remodeling and such since the current motor has a few valve leaks.
My second question is what are some on line sites that have Mustang parts, such as quarter panels, and such.
Answer: Count the bolts on the intake manifold. A 351W will have eight on each side for that year. 302W and smaller will have six bolts on each side. '72 Stangs could have come with a 351C also for that year. Camshafts and cylinder heads will interchange between the 302W and 351W engines. Intake manifolds will not due to a higher deck height, therefore making the 351 intake wider than the 302's. Just type in mustang parts in your browser and you will get hundreds of hits.

Answer: i own a shop and i have seen these car painted both ways and i think the red with white stripes looks a lot better it stands out in a crowd of cars a lot better also ,especially if your at a car show with it,and more people will look at it than they will a black one,used to be a black car was the in thing to have but now the brighter colors look much better,good luck with it hope this helps.
