My 7 minute workout story
Do I use the program myself? You betcha!
In late February 2011, I was given the opportunity of becoming one amongst a group of beta testers of this program - a chance I welcomed with open arms. Even though I have always been active and done some sort of training - after all I have been teaching and studying martial arts (ju-jitsu) for 30 odd years - I was increasingly becoming more flabby than fit.Lately, I had gotten into some rather bad eating habits. Furthermore, I lacked the time to set aside enough time for my own training - that all-important strength training in particular. It does not help one bit that this type of training is something I find extremely boring and long-winded...
Was I skeptical about just needing to do as little as 7 minutes of strength training, three times a week in order to get great results? Was I ever - I thought to myself that this has got to be one of those "get rich quick"-type of schemes. You know, take a magic pill and everything will be OK, kind of deals.
But man, was I ever wrong! Just a few weeks down the track I have lost about 8lbs (4kg), that bulky waistline is shrinking and I feel great. Has it been hard? Not one tiny bit; just a few simple changes to the eating habits and doing the exercises. Yes the exercises can be hard - but that's in a good way. And they over with so quickly that weight training suddenly have become fun. Now who would have though...?
There are hundreds of people going through the program as we speak and they report about similar results. Easy to implement - gives great results - no stress. You have a huge number of people just like me who have hated the gym workouts, and who suddenly find themselves actually enjoying their workout so much that they look forward to it!
A sound and healthy business: 7 Minute Workout
And you know what? I am confident they will. Why? Because of the simplicity of the program, the people behind it, the immaculate support system, the proven and time-tested workout principles and the total integration with the online easy of use and follow-up.
While Weight Watchers as struggling to buy back franchises in order to move their business online and Jenny Craig apparently still haven't caught up to the shift that is happening, 7MW is online from the get-go - meaning a huge potential for anyone wanting to benefit from this system also from a business perspective!
You might definitely want to check out the 7MinuteWorkout business opportunity. By getting in early, you can be sure to take advantage of something which is going to become huge.
The ridiculously low entrance fee really makes this something of a no-brainer. I urge you to compare it to other, similar business opportunities...
Important!
Workout - what a bad phrase!
Consider this: We all work (at work, at school, voluntary work a.s.o.); it is very unlikely anyone actually want to work even more!
So when it comes to the term "workout", a lot of folks get this idea that it's... well work (and a lot of it too). And that sounds kind of boring, doesn't it?
And to be honest - most workout routines is hard work! So is it really any wonder that so many end up quitting when there is a lot of boring work involved? Not the 7MW, it's easy and fun :-)

Seven Minute Workouts - the basics
The idea is to "train the muscle to failure" with intense and basic strength training, and then give the muscles ample time to rest and grow after each workout.
This does several things: First it involves more of the muscle fiber in each workout, building more strength in a shorter period of time. Then, because you don't need a lot of "fancy" exercises or reps, each workout is short - like the program says: 7 minute, three times per week...
Most importantly is that you will see results quickly. Furthermore, the risk of over training and getting bored or worn out is close to zero. So this is truly a win-win-win situation!
What 7 minute workouts is NOT about
Another splendid Jim Carrey video :-)
Fortunately, the 7MinuteWorkout program is almost as funny as this, but way less dangerous, painful and strange :-)

Dieting - the biggest failure of them all
Diets often causes more health related problems than they cure!
You see people going on all sorts of diets all the time in order to "get in shape" and shed some weight. Unless a proper, balanced diet is done very wisely and in conjunction with a good workout/exercise routine, you are basically setting yourself up for failure. What happens when you go on one of the fad diets is two things is that you end up with sort of bad, double whammy. First, your body slows down the metabolism in order to preserve energy.
With too little carbohydrates, your body will be starting break down fat (which probably is what we all want, right?), but you will also be breaking down lean body tissue and muscle. Bad idea, since it all sows down and messes with the metabolism!
So... When you come off your diet, an increase in fat cells will naturally occur because your metabolism is slowed down and so your body has been accustomed to less blood sugar for fuel. The end result is not only that the weight and fat comes back on - you will end up worse than when you started. Whet ever you do, please stay well away from all forms of fad diets, and be very cautious of diets in general - unless they are given in by someone who knows what they are talking about (like a doctor or nutrition specialist), and they are done in conjunction with some sort of training/work-out.
My main goal of working out is...

Most people have probably more than one reason for working out. However, if you had to choose the biggest one ... what would that be?

7 minute workouts - what others are saying
Here's some users and what they have to say:
=> Terry G.: "Just got back from my annual physical yesterday. I just turned 60 in January. For the first time ever, I have passed everything. No prescriptions, no ldl or hdl issues, no high blood pressure issues. Thanks to 7MW, I am actually getting healthier by the day."=> Don J.: "I've been doing the workouts since the beginning of 7 Minute Workout and charting my progress in terms of weight and reps. I have increased weights in all of my workouts and found the reps are a lot easier than my old program. Best of all I see constant improvements in both muscle tone and how my clothes fit. Got up this morning feeling really good and thought oh what the heck and grabbed a pair of jeans I haven't been able to fit into since last summer - Yahoo! They fit and are size 34! Again finally a program that works, takes a minimum of time and I feel great doing with results I can see everyday!"
=> Ned R.: "I now see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't the train!. My sugar is back to a normal range, my muscle tone is coming back and I am feeling good about myself again. I have still a long way to go but for the first time in two years, I have hope. You have no idea how good that feels."
=> Ronald N R. "(...) enjoying every bit of it. Even as a 68 yr old karate instructor I can still feel the remarkable difference with the 7 minute workout program"
=> Mandy E.: "This time (...) I have more time to spend with my family b/c when I get home from work, I have already done my workout videos in the morning, don't have to go to the gym for 2 hours, I can hang out with my family and I feel so good about that!"
=> Mike R.: "The results are surprising. When I started this journey eight weeks ago, I thought that I would lose some weight and get healthier. I know that my results are not typical. But here we are. This is only a checkpoint in my journey. As of today, I have lost 40 pounds and a total of 48.5 inches! That is four feet of body fat that has disappeared. I am amazed at the energy that I have now."
=> Rita P. "I came into this program as a skeptic. I have been going to the gym for ages and not seen any real results. Since starting the 7 minute workout I not only see results - I have actually lost some weight. Not only have I lost weight but my blood sugars have been falling and I am feeling better, and looking forward to the next workouts."
=> Derek B.: "I finished my first 10 days of workout! This is the first time I stuck to any exercise routine this long! I'm looking forward to starting from workout one today. I know my body needs this (...). 7MW has got me watching what I eat and taking fiber. I eat what I want when I want and I can still lose fat and gain muscle with this workout."
=> Deb L: "I am amazed that I couldn't wait to get home from a bunch of errands today so I could do my exercises! Now THAT's a paradigm shift in the making!"
=> Larry R.: "After doing just the excericise part of the routine my muscles felt as pumped as they would have if I lifted in the gym for 35 minutes. I definitely like the excercises and I like the way they explain them. This really does seem like a good product.. I am happy with my decision to join."
=> Charles A.: "I'm pretty excited. I lost 7 pounds on my first cycle of workouts (ie. 2 weeks). I haven't been really strict with my diet either...meaning that I've gone to a buffet 3 times within that time frame."
=> Doug C.: "I decided to try on pants that I have not worn in 2 years and they fit just fine!!! I have gone from a 40" waist to a 36" waist since I started the program. I was running around the house like a little kid. I had my wife laughing so hard..... gosh this is a great feeling."
=> George H.: "7 Minute Workout is amazing! Not just has (...) provided me with great exercises, but it has given me control of one thing I have struggled with for the last 12 years. Food maintenance."
=> Brett T.: "(...) looking forward to the workout. I can really tell a difference in energy and some in tone too."
=> Suzanne K.: "What I find interesting so far about the 7 minute workout is that I look forward to the exercise days. I can't say I ever felt this way about those hour long exercise classes I used to attend. It was more like "groan, it's exercise day; maybe I'll skip this one."
=> Jimmy W.: "Finished #5 today. Feeling really good. Being part of a community helps with my previous lack of discipline in working out."
=> Kim N.: "OK, I'm excited! I just finsihed my first workout. I feel great. (...) I was going to workout at the gym.....but it was hard to get there. Today I decided to just start at home. I'm glad I did."
=> Stuart T.: "Started 2nd rotation of exercise program today. Already feeling more energized and have started waking up earlier, especially on workout mornings... Loving it!"
=> Dereck C.: "Really enjoying this whole concept you made us all aware of! I'm not a beginner, but time has always been a tricky thing to fit for workouts. I started into training just recently, but loving these short bursts, they're so short I really look forward to the next!"
=> Fernando F.: "Just finished my day 1! wow! I feel so good! 7 minutes and at home...I love it!"
=> Michael F.: "Whilst some of those workouts had something of the workouch about them, it was fun. There is always something very satifying about challenging yourself and completing what you set out to do. One thing that is really nice, is finally knowing what I am doing!"
=> Susan B.: "Just finished my 2nd workout and am breathing hard but it feels Good! Something must be wrong with me I wanted to exercise!"
=> Brian R.: "I am only at workout 4 tomorrow but I am already feeling results. I have lost 2.5 pounds."
=> Melissa C.: (...) I also have "bad" knees, I had surgery to correct my legs when I was 14 years old and suffered from knee pain everyday since, but as I have increased my muscle mass and strength, my knee pain has decreased dramatically!"
Weight of muscle versus fat
It is a common misconception heard time and time again that "muscle weighs more than fat". This - as a statement by itself - is simply not true; 1kg of muscle weighs the same as 1kg of fat. 1kg is the same whether it is fat, muscle or water ... or any thing else for that matter. What is true is that muscle is denser than fat. So if we had a piece of fat and a piece of muscle - and these were of the same size - then the piece of muscle would weigh more.
If you take the image here... Cut away the ugly looking fat until it was approximately the size of the lean muscle. You would now have a piece of muscle that weighed around 1.5 times more than the fat. Makes sense right?
This is a 170 pound body with a higher percentage of muscle mass look leaner and "lighter" than a 170 pound body with a higher percentage of body fat.
Eat less, move more
A "Saturday Night Live" Sketch
Just to be on the safe side: The reason for posting this video is not by any means to make a mockery of the many who struggle with food and weight. Many of you have more than enough to worry about already! Nor do I claim that everyone can lose weight simply by eating less and moving more. There are those who may need more drastic interventions for sure.
However, what I am saying is that a lot of folks tend to over complicate things, believing that getting is better shape is too complicated and way too much hard work. Not so. For most people, it really is a matter of simple changes to our eating habits and as little as 7 minutes of exercise - three times per week. So for us it is definitely "eat less and move more." :-)
