Fun Facts About The Tax Credit
Fun Facts about the $8000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit:
1. 10% of the purchase price for a max of $8,000.00 e.g. $40,000.00 house = Tax Credit of $4,000.00
2. To get your Tax Credit FASTER you can amend your 2008 Return, or wait until you prepare your 2009 return
3. Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a valid ITIN number
4. If married both must be first time home buyer (not owned a primary home in the last Three Years)
5. If two or more unmarried people purchase a home together, not all buyers must be first time home buyers!!!! The Credit may be allocated between eligible purchasers
6. Must live in the house for Three Years or you have to pay the credit back!!!!!
7. Income Limitations:
Married 150k full Credit
151k to 170k Partial Credit
Greater than 170k No Credit
Single
75k full Credit
76k to 95k Partial Credit
Greater than 170 No Credit
8. Can not have owned a principle residence in the last three years to qualify
