90 Days to Affiliate Success

9k in 90 days
Today starts my specific intention to make $9k in 90 days using affiliate marketing as a cornerstone concept. That's where the compass needle is pointed. That's the qualification for my actions. It's the lense through which I will be seeing everything. Since I must work full time during the day and am a father this is an ambitous goal. However, if you do the math, it's very reasonable. That works out to making $100 starting in week two (gotta give myself some time to get moving), and then improving my week over week performance by 30% every week (ie: $130 the second week, and then $177 the third, etc.). The result is a spreadsheet that looks like this: 90 Days Income Trend

What a way to start
Creepy. I'm starting my 90 days on Friday the 13th. How's that for weird. And here's the double whammy... I just calculated 90 days from now... September 11th. Almost too much to be a coincidence. And the Trifecta... 90 days is basically 13 weeks. God certainly has a sense of humor. At least I won't forget when this began and ended.
So, first of all, why am I writing this? Why am I exposing my soul to the world? Well, really. I'm like 4.5 million on the Squidoo lense list... is anyone going to read this? Who knows, but I'm mostly doing it for myself. It's like having an imaginary friend to talk with and share your ups and downs with. No voices in my head... but let's talk in 90 days.

What I've done so far
It's not like I've not done anythying prior to today. I just haven't done it with a specific intention or commitment. Here's what I've already done to setup my 90 day burn:

Purchased books:
I've only purchased 3 books. The rest of what I've read has been from books borrowed from the library or websites. The books I purchased were: Inspired Marketing, Your Internet Cash Machine and Portable Empire. I highly recommend all three as they have great content.

Borrowed and scanned many books from the library:

• Adsense code
• The Super Affiliate Handbook
• The Long Tail
• Zero Limits
• Hypnotic Writing
• Meet and Grow Rich
• How to write an ebook
• etc.

Subscribed to several blogs:

• Pat O'Bryan's Blog
• Dr. Joe Vitale at Zero
• Top Dollar Affiliate Programs - No Cost is Free -- Make Money
• The Video Queen
• Peter Vatistas
• GuruMastermindVideoBlog
• Long Tail Treasure

I've also taken some action to get setup:

• Signed up for a Wealthy Affiliate membership (you need to check it out... this is a truly fantastic community)
• Long Tail Treasure Course
• Setup my Squidoo, Blogger, Digg, Stumbleupon, Ezine, Classified ad memberships
• Setup a wordpress blog (http:www.fibrotips.com) without any idea as to how to sell, market, etc. I've put that project on pause.

Education and Action
I chose to get some education first. I'm totally an action guy, but I realized a few things:

• I don't want to blindly choose a strategy.
• I need to learn so my actions have context:
• So many of the "free courses" give you hope, but not tangible help, so it takes a little while to learn the real stuff.
• There is no turn-key RESULTS. You have to ADAPT what you learn to your ability to execute.
• I do best when I can think at multiple levels simultaneously (Strategic and tactical) so, for me, I need knowledge first.

Goal for today and the weekend

• Select a product(s) from clickbank to research
• Keyword research
• Create a Squidoo for the product
• Write an article and submit
• Study the Long Tail Treasure course and Bum Marketing Course
• Get more involved in Wealthy Affiliate by posting on the boards and introducing myself

Usually you wait until you're finished before writing your acknowledgements. However, there's something cool about writing the afterward before the forward. If I make it to my goal, I'm sure I'll have others to thank. But, already, I know I need to thank the following.

Todd Alan from Long Tail Treasure is my current inspiration and internet guide. You must read his blog. You must subscribe to his FREE course. The guy made $7k in his first 60 days (I'm not as bright as him so I'm giving myself a little more time) and now pulls in $700/day... need I say any more?

Pat O'Bryan who is the man behind "The Portable Empire" book and course and so many other things. His book embodies my major goal... to be "Geographically Independent(TM)." To live where you want to live and not worry about the 9 to five clock. I'm not talking financial freedom (you never have to work another day in your life). That is another goal, but, I'll start with the GI. Pat... your book made me believe I could do it.

Robert Stover of Strategy Matters who will remember that conversation 2 years ago in Vegas that put me on a course towards using my unique abilities. Let's write the next chapter and finish the book bro! Robert is a crazy good marketing mind, strategy partner, copywriter extraordinaire, and part of my mastermind.

Matt Sullivan of Credit Dusters (if your credit isn't perfect, go to his site... www.creditdusters.com) who is my brother from another mother. From yard signs and 800 numbers to ADD and new careers... we've paced with each other. You know who brought us together bro. Thanks for being part of my lifeline!

My wife of 16, 17 years (yeah I'm starting to lose track. Tough times do last sometimes, but there is a season of sunshine ahead (or rain... we like the rain). It's not been easy, but we're still together and still the lifetime friends and soulmates we committed to being. Hang in there lover.
