Welcome to Greenwood!
Located in the northwest section of Seattle, the Greenwood neighborhood is a great place to live! Homes are still decently-priced, and frequently have yards and trees. The area has lots of shops and businesses, and good sidewalks, making it easy to walk or bike for day-to-day errands or an evening out.
I've lived in this area for almost three years now and I'm working to make this lens a great local guide. Come explore and enjoy my neighborhood with me! If you see "Rae Recommends!" next to an entry, it means I really like that business and use their services myself.
Welcome to Greenwood!

If there's one thing that's argued about here, it's "what are the boundaries that form the Greenwood neighborhood?" I'm using the map shown above as my guideline. What you are looking at is essentially Greenwood Avenue, from about N 65th St to N 90th St.
I live three blocks West of the blue section shown above, so that entire map is my main "stomping ground." Businesses and services are grouped by category below.

- NakedCityBrewing.com
- Naked City is a brewery and taphouse providing a small selection of distinctive house brewed beers alongside some of the finest local and regional craft beers available in the Seattle area.
- Prost! A German style neighborhood tavern.
- One of the few places in Seattle with this many German beers on tap, and many beers exclusive to the establishment. A big Bavarian-style soft pretzel with spicy mustard makes you thirsty for more beer, while the tender curried bockwurst or bratwurst and tangy sauerkraut with caraway seeds satisfies the post-beer munchies.
- Nancy Leson | Pig gets a whole new whistle
- What happens when a "great opportunity" falls into your hands? You take it and run with it, says Vuong Loc, owner/chef of Queen Anne's Portage, who has given new life to Greenwood's long-lived Pig 'N Whistle.

- Avast, ye scurvy dogs! Pillagers Pub is the new home of Three Skulls Ales and Baron Brewing.

- Neptune Coffee
- Our primary good at Neptune coffee is to neonate you with stupendous coffee in a pleasant atmosphere, and we hope that these what you remember when you come by. But we also want to be an active part of the Greenwood Community (in the good lend-you a-cup-of-sugar way, not in a TP-your-front-yard way).
- Diva Espresso
- The evolution of Highlands Coffee Company had its beginnings in Diva Espresso (created by two partners and brought to life in January 1992). From 1992 to 1998, Diva paid her growing-pains dues, ultimately thriving in both North Seattle and West Seattle, cultivating kaffeeclatsch (coffee and gossip) in funky/eclectic neighborhood coffeehouses.

Restaurants
- Oliver's Twist | Phinney Ridge | Seattle
- Oliver's Twist restaurant on Phinney Ridge. Seattle, Washington 98103.
- Mae's Phinney Ridge Cafe
- Rae Recommends!
Have you visited our moo-velous Mae's Phinney Ridge Café? Don't answer that! Just gather the herd and get on up to the Ridge. We're servin' up some mighty fine breakfast dishes that are sure to satisfy. In fact, we have so many choices that it might not be a bad idea to take a look at our menu right here on the web site (and then print out your 10% off coupon) before y'all come in. - Welcome to Red Mill Burgers!
- In its first year of operation the Red Mill received honorable mention in the best burger category in the Seattle Weekly's annual Best of Seattle issue. It has subsequently won the best burger award every year since, along with numerous other accolades.
- Gaspare Ristorante and Bar
- The best italian restaurant in Seattle. Gaspare Ristorante and Bar is a restaurant with a full bar and additonal outdoor court yard seating for the summer. It is located at 6705 Greenwood Ave. N. It is kitty corner from the Phinney Ridge Community Center and is next door to the Francine Seders art Gallery.
- El Chupacabra - Phinney/Greenwood - Mexican
- The atmosphere is very casual and is decorated with fun "dia de los muertos" items and folk lore images. The food was very good for the price and although the menu is limited, everything I have had was impressive; I am especially a fan of the black bean dip and chips.
- How's Rudolph Taste?- about the Kort Haus
- But the Kort Haus has a few quirks that'll make the average Seattleite feel like a fish out of water. For one, there are two arcade games devoted to buck hunting, with toy rifles mounted to the consoles, a predilection said to be native to southern Illinois (having lived back that way for awhile, I can vouch for the accuracy of this statement). Then there's the dry-erase board situated above one of the arcade games; on it are the names of a dozen or so wild animals: alligator, antelope, black bear, buffalo, spicy buffalo, camel, caribou, elk, spicy elk, kangaroo, llama, ostrich, reindeer, venison, wild boar, and yak (also listed are jackalope, unicorn, and elf, obviously the handiwork of a regular). This peculiar list comprises Ed's vast offering of exotic burgers.

- I did a travel nurse assignment in Seattle a few yrs back. Went to Greenwood frequently. Went to the Art walk when I got a Friday off, which was too often, but enjoyed it when I could. Would love to go back. It is one of the most beautiful areas of the country. 5* and lensroll.
