Come visit Whidbey Island...it's a beautiful area with so much to do and see......
Oak Harbor is located on beautiful Whidbey Island, Coupeville is just a few minutes south, both these quaint towns are ideal for families looking for a better and more carefree lifestyle. Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island are connected by Deception Pass bridge one of the most visited tourist attractions in Washington state. There is another way to access the Island and that is by ferry at Mukilteo on the mainland, the ferry ride is about 20 minutes and drops you off at Clinton at the southern most tip of Whidbey. I have retired from Real Estate and no longer am a Realtor, but I will keep this lens active for you to enjoy. Whidbey Island truly offers a very laid back lifestyle that most find very enjoyable and welcome. Our population of 37,065 for Whidbey Island, consists mostly of retirees and military families. Oak Harbor hosts Naval Air Station Whidbey Island which is in a transitioning stage from the EA6-B Prowler, to the new EA6-18G- Growler. Boeing is another major employer for Islanders, some families living on the south end of the Island consist of retirees or are employed at Boeing. Boeing is located in Everett which is near Mukilteo, so taking the ferry is an easy and fast way to commute to Boeing from Whidbey Island. Whidbey Island offers a wide range of real estate homes, ranging from rural farms in the county, waterfront estates or new construction in an urban setting. With so much variety a buyer has so many choices of neighborhoods and communities to choose from - depending on his families needs and interests You will love Whidbey Island, it is 50 miles in length and we are surrounded by beauty in every direction. With the Olympic Mtn. range to the south, the Cascade Mtn. range to the east, and Mt. Baker to the north. Seattle is only 2-1/2 hours drive south of Oak Harbor, and Vancouver BC is 1-1/2 hours to the north. There are plenty of activities in the area as well as parks and nature trails, plenty of fishing, hiking, boating, clamming and beach walking activities. Forget the long lines at the grocery store, or traffic jams, come and enjoy the slower pace and carefree lifestyle Whidbey Island has to offer.
