Build "A Christmas Story" Village!

Bring A Christmas Story to life in your home...

The movie A Christmas Story was released in November of 1983 and quickly became a holiday classic that is cherished by families today.  My own husband is one of those that knows almost every line by heart and we watch the movie each year on Christmas Eve.

The movie is set in the 1940s in a small, fictional town in Indiana and revolves around the Parker family, especially nine year old Ralphie Parker who has decided that for Christmas he wants "an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range mode air rifle with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time."  When he tells his mother what he wants, she immediately responds with "No, you'll shoot your eye out."  Ralphie then spends the rest of the movie trying to figure out how to get this coveted item for Christmas, even going so far as to express his desire to the department store Santa.

The movie resonates with adults and children alike because who among us has not wished for something for Christmas that seems so far out of reach?

If you love this movie as much as my family does, you can create a Christmas village scene for the holidays with the landmark buildings and people from the movie shown below.
