I had a favorite teacher from Elementary School. She was the minister's wife of the church I attended. She already knew me, which was a big plus to a very shy person. Having her there as my teacher seemed to help me to blossom. She also rewarded us with treats and popcorn parties for good behavior. I wish to give thanks to her.
At the end of April in 2009, I was a poll worker for a local city election, in a middle school. One of the other poll-workers there was a teacher. Since it was a city election, the schools remained in session. While there, a student stopped in to see her grandmother and saw this teacher. The teacher lit up when talking to the student. It was like she just blossomed. I wish to give thanks to her as well and to all the others like her.
Teachers help to shape and mold our youth, many in positive ways; and to them, I dedicate this lens, and give thanks.

- Great lens! Last year, I made a special visit to see my 4th grade teacher who influenced me greatly over the years. She is now almost 90 years old and in a retirement home. Visiting her was great fun....so many stories about her favorite students. This lens got me thinking that I need to go see her again ASAP. Congrats on the purple star!!
