This machine gives users two types of motion to keep them toned and in shape. It has both a stride setting and a climb setting. These options are meant to offer greater challenges in your workouts as muscles that are used for the same motion over and over fail to develop as you would like them to.

You'll have a lot of good things going for you if you do decide to purchase the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical. For one, its iFit Fitness Journal will keep you up-to-date with your fitness progress, giving you important data for as long as 10 years.

Its price is rather steep for an elliptical, but that's because the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical isn't your run-of-the-mill exercise unit. It's actually like purchasing two machines for the price of one. With it, you not only "stride" but also "climb"! The climb function was added because eventually, you'll have to add variety to your workout to enhance overall fitness.

The ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical's 18-inch stride length can give you a full range of motion while the climbing feature lets you stretch those glutes and hamstrings with a more vertically oriented stride.

This machine incorporates 8 workouts designed by certified professional trainers so you can choose the orientation of your programs - that is, either they're focused on weight loss, aerobics, or performance.

The ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical also has a Target Trainer which scrolls messages that are meant to inspire you during your workout. It will tell you whether you need to put in more effort or if you need to reduce the intensity.

No scrolling is involved, however, when we talk of this elliptical's resistance adjustment. All you have to do is press a button to adjust your resistance levels.

The Dual-Grip EKG Heart Rate Monitor works via the sensors that are built into the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical's handlebars. This feature is very helpful so you won't lose track of your target heart rate zone.

Consistent with most ProForm ellipticals, this model has the Silent Magnetic Resistance (SMR) feature which enables you to smoothly and silently shift from one level of resistance to another. There are 10 different levels of resistance to select from. It's frictionless and jerk-free, and therefore easy on your joints.

The maximum weight capacity is 275 pounds. There's a lifetime warranty on the frame plus a 7-year warranty on the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical's brakes.

Other extras that may seem minor but are requirements for true fitness buffs are a book holder to keep you engrossed while working out and a bottle holder to hold your favorite training drink.

There are very few complaints about the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical, if any. The price is rather steep for most budgets at $1,100. Nevertheless, if you would look at it as an investment for your future health, then it might be worth giving the ProForm XP Stride Climber 600 Elliptical a try.

Purchased the ProForm 600 Stride Climber in November 2007. It was broken by January 2008. The lower track spot welds all broke. New track is doing better but flexes which caused the main axle to break. Technician can not take the parts off to make the fix. He has ordered over $700.00 in parts to attempt a rebuild but it does not look like it can be done. My wife and I are out of an exerciser and we have a room full of pieces and parts to look at pending the arrival of the new parts and repair. Going on three weeks and we are not happy. My wife is 126lbs. and I am 220lbs. well under the 275lbs. the machine is rated for. No excuses ProForm. Bad design, poor construction. I have a five year warranty...here we go.
